Copy and Paste from UNIX Text File

2008-02-18 Thread Jay Walker
When I copy and paste from a text file in UNIX format, the first line
is okay, but with every subsequent line the first character is
stripped off.

For me this makes TB unusable. The problem is I don't know how to
safely go back from 4.0 to 3.9. Any advice?

AntiSpamSniper icons not displayed properly

2008-02-18 Thread Roger Phillips

Hello All,

Has anyone else had a problem with the AntispamSniper icons not displaying
properly?

The customise item for AntiSpamSniper only shows the items 'Mark as Junk' and 'Mark as not Junk' although part of the part of the 'View log...' icon displays as shown above.

I'm not absolutely sure in which version this problem started.

Reverted to 3.99.29 with System Restore. Seems to have worked okay.

As for the problem with 4.0 and copy-paste from UNIX text, if someone
confirms this, can you please post a bug notice for me (assuming it
does not yet exist). Sorry, though I am still an avid Bat user, I

I have already been through the Maint center and ran it on all the folders. It
did not seem to make a difference. I am going to take a look at XP from a
systems view (MFT,Chkdsk, etc) to see if there is something up there. If not, I
am truly at a loss as to why TB is so slow processing the mail. I will also
delete any filters and see if that makes a difference.
The fact that other mailers work fine and at light speed(fast) when reading the
mail, points to something amiss with TB.
Thanks for the suggestions, if you think of anything else, please let me know.
 Any and all appreciated.

Stefan, I prefer UltraEdit http://www.ultraedit.com. It is
shareware, so you could easily use it for the purpose of testing this
particular bug.

It seems that the problem is connected with the line terminators. If
you create a file (or save a file) in UNIX format with Unix line
terminators and then copy text from the file into a TB 4.0 message,
then
_
The dog jumped over the moon.
The dog jumped over the moon.
The dog jumped over the moon.
The dog jumped over the moon.
~

becomes...
_
The dog jumped over the moon.
he dog jumped over the moon.
he dog jumped over the moon.
he dog jumped over the moon.
~

Presumably the first line is unaffected because it was not preceded by
a line terminator.

NOTE: This behavior is introduced in 4.x. It does not occur in 3.x (or
at least I never noticed it there, and I probably would have). It
certainly does not occur in 3.99.29.

4.00.14.2 - original text pane

2008-02-18 Thread Jon Polish
I had to drop back to an earlier version. I extensively rely on the
Original Text pane when replying and with the implementation of the
new MicroEd, it seems to have acquired some undesirable
characteristics.

1. Especially when replying to a HTML message, the mouse does not
accurately select. Carefully positioning the cursor and clicking,
usually starts the selection one or more characters to the left.

2. Using the keyboard to tab from the copied selection to the body of
the message (as was the behavior in v 3.x) does not occur. Instead the
focus goes to the headers and you have to press tab repeatedly to get
to the body.

I have not seen others mention this so perhaps I ma doing something
wrong.

Hi Ivan,

Because I needed it (part of a protocol). I hope this stays possible
because it is possible with Thunderbird so

Why does the Bat! not remember my password for signing/encrypting/decrypting?
It is cached for XX minutes...
 Or you mean constantly ?
Well if you enter 1440 minutes ;-)
Caching sometimes works for outgoing messages but most of the time I
have to fill in my password.

Re: 4.0.14.2 Spell Checker Issues

2008-02-18 Thread MAU
Hello Ian,

I have just followed your instructions and found that the spell-checker still
 does not work.

OK, if you did (i.e uninstalled, deleted registry key, etc., and did a
Custom install with only Core), let's try to pin it down a bit more.

Please export your HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RIT key, rename it as .txt
(to avoid the risk of some one double clicking on it) and either post it
here or send it to me by PM so I can compare it with mine to see if
there any differences that could be significant?

A screen capture of of Spell Checker Options dialog would also help.

As I said in a reply to Graham in this same thread, no one can assure
there is nothing wrong with the SSCE engine. But the fact that it works
for most makes it more difficult to find why it fails for some,
specially if developers can't reproduce the failure.

BTW, when you say it doesn't work, does it mean that it doesn't mark
any words as misspelled?

Hello Miguel,

I hope you don't mind stepping into this thread but this is exactly what
happens on my side when I upgrade from this version. As well for the rar
as for the msi versions.
