Inline Images
When I CC'd my home address on a message I sent from work today, I noticed that TB /still/ doesn't format HTML mail with inline images in a way that Thunderbird can correctly handle. For some reason, the images are all collected at the bottom of the message, instead of where I placed them. I'm sure that TB conforms to the /letter/ of the necessary RFCs for this, however, it would really be nice if it could conform to the common practice instead -- at least as an option of via an add-in or something. I use Thunderbird at home and receive mail from people using many, many different email programs and the ONLY one that generates messages with the images out of line is TB. I understand that the weakness is actually Thunderbird's, but no one (or almost no one) is /paying/ them to fix things and create a fully compliant email program. I'm reasonably sure this request will not get implemented, but as a paying customer of TB for the past seven years, I felt I had a right to request it (again). If Thunderbird were some fly-by-night, barely used program I wouldn't bother, but since it is free and rather popular (especially among my friends, family, co-workers and customers), this doesn't seem to be an unreasonable request. Of course, it could also be fixed by RIT Labs contributing the necessary code to the Thunderbird project to correctly render messages in the format TB is using... -- Steven Vallière | tb 4.2.13.4 ALPHA | mailto:the...@e-visions.com -- If you didn't write it down, then it didn't happen. -Larry Zana Current beta is 4.2.13.3 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Edit as New?
Didn't previous a version (or versions) of TB have a menu option for messages to Edit as new? I may be thinking of some other email program, but the only other one I use is Thunderbird, and it doesn't have that option (and I don't think it ever did). It is not uncommon for me to want to re-send an old message, sometimes to the same people, sometime to new people, and sometimes with additional or updated information. While it is /possible/ to do this in TB by cutting the old message and pasting it into a new one, that loses the old addressee lists, which are tedious enough to enter now that the address drop-menu is gone from the To:, CC: and BCC: fields in the Edit Mail Message window. If I can manually get Edit as New back on the menu and/or get the drop-lists back in the address fields, could someone /please/ tell me how? Why don't you copy the already sent message to the outbox and edit the header and the message there? This is already possible and should suit your needs. -- Regards, Feli:de-bb: The Bat! 4.2.13.4 ALPHA on Windows XP 5.1 2600 Service Pack 3 Current beta is 4.2.13.3 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Editing custom templates
Hello Tbbeta, One of TB's strengths compared to other email programs is its template engine, including the possibility to use custom templates for folders and address book entries. Many years ago I used that, having special greeting and the like for many of my contacts. However, I stopped using that because of the following issue: Whenever your signature changes, for example because you assume a new position in your company, you will have to go through the whole address book and change every contact's template. Is there a way around that? How do other people (you) use this feature? Is it possible to have a template (e.g. for one contact) that is always based on the default template and only changes one word or line of it? -- Best regards, Carsten Current beta is 4.2.13.3 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

I use a QT called 'vsig' and qinclude it from most templates. It works out which signature I need to apply. When I need to change my sig, my templates remain static and only the vsig template changes. You could simplify this and refer to a set of sig QTs, but the principle remains the same. -- Cheers -- iviarck D Pearlstone -- List moderator and fellow end user TB! v4.2.13.4 ALPHA on Windows 7 6.1.7600 ' pgpyZH0DlZS3a.pgp Description: PGP signature Current beta is 4.2.13.3 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
