(sorry if this is a double message, Gmane is having some trouble, I guess)

Maxim Masiutin:
The Bat! 5.0.16.1 (BETA is available at
 http://www.ritlabs.com/download/files3/the_bat/a-5/tb50161.rar

...

I still have the weird problem I mentioned here some time ago:

...
I cannot create a
filter to move messages to a second level folder:

\\account_name\folder\subfolder

TB says that folder names must not contain non printable charachters like * /
\ ? etc. But if the subfolder name contains a space, something like

\\account_name\folder\sub folder

then TB accepts the folder name.
=

Now I dig deeper and found this, more specifically (and more weird):

 TB! Message Filter
beginFilter
UID: [788CB1C1.01CC365B.5AB4182C.4B63ACE0]
Name: weirdo
Filter: {\0D\0A\20`0`0`whatever\0D\0A}
MoveMessage folder \5C\5C1234.6789abcde@1234567\5C1234567
IsActive
Ignore
endFilter

If you past this as a filter into some account of yours, then you open
the move message to the folder action for editing, then click ok,
you get two warnings: first one is the obvious invalid account, but
with the second one TB also says that folder names must not contain non
printable charachters like * / \ ? : and trailing dots. But there are
none in the folder name.

And now the best: if you modify the length of the folder name (more or less of
7 charachters) OR if you move the first dot in the account name (and put it
after or before the fifth place, or just remove it), the second warning
disappears and TB accept the folder name.

Can anyone confirm this? You could spend a lifetime without catching it, but
if you do, you are forced to rename your folder and you don't understand why
and how.

Re: Update 4 to 5 IMAP folders inaccessible

2011-06-30 Thread Carsten Guthardt-Schulz
 - IMAP-Folders on the root level (other than INBOX) are suddenly
 inaccessible! I have folders like
 INBOX
 INBOX.Newsletter
 INBOX.Mailinglist
 but also
 IMPORTANT
 ARCHIVE

Those, that are not a subfolder of INBOX, disappeared from my
folder list in TB! If I click on Manage IMAP folders and hit
refresh, I only see INBOX and its subfolders, not the other folders on the
 root level.

Still not fixed in current version! Preventing me to upgrade from 4 to 5.

2011-06-30 Thread Carsten Guthardt-Schulz
Hello Maxim,

The root-folder bug I reported a while ago is still there: I cannot access
folders on the root level of the IMAP Server (Courier on debian stable):

I open manage IMAP folder:
- folders at root-level not displayed (only INBOX and every subfolder of INBOX)
- when creating new folder and choosing at root level folder gets created as
sub-folder auf INBOX
- when choosing rename/move and moving that folder to root level the folder
actually gets moved to the root level and shown there (at the manage IMAP
folders window)
- if I close and reopen that window, the folder is not shown anymore, I can
refresh list as often as I want

Rgds,
Carsten

Most of issues with using ViewModes should be fixed now, at least
 - the way they are working now seems the most logical and leads to
 predictable results :-)

The only known issue left is the ViewMode used in Message Finder.

If something is still functioning wrong, please report.

here a situation that does not work:

- given a viewmode (sort order 'Received') for a certain folder (say
Inbox)
- setting on Preferences: 'When view mode was changed: Ignore changes'
- select folder and on message list change column sorting from
'Received' to 'From'
- no select a different folder on that account with (same) View mode
(say Trash)

-- now also new folder has sort order 'From' wher it should have
changed to 'Received'
-- changing back to first folder: also 'From' is still active

Second bug:

setting on Preferences: 'When view mode was changed: ask confirmation
for save'

- given viewmode for a certain folder (say Inbox)
- select folder and on message list change column sorting from
'Received' to 'From'
- select a different folder (say Trash)

-- no asking if changed view mode should be saved!

best regards,
Ulrich

I had this problem. I just couldn't change the view modes. In the end I just played around changing view mode settings: sort, threading, etc., changing folders, restarting, until finally it started storing the changes again. I reported it to this list but not sure if anyone realised.

RP The message should move to an archive folder and be marked as parked.

RP It should be triggered by the 'space bar' navigation short cut, or by manual
RP marking as 'read'.

RP They still work in version 4.2.44.2 and worked in many earlier versions.

The outcome of this was that I removed (uninstalled) my version of 5.0.16,
except for the data files, and then re-installed using 5.0.16 msi. The
'Read' filters then worked OK.

My original installation of 5.0.16 was installed over a previoue version.
In future it may therefore not be wise to install any TB.msi files over a
previous version. Rather Better safe than sorry!
