My own TB! Archive
Dear All, In march 2010 I have created a TB! Account in a different Folder and location where I have moved all old eMails into. This is my own TB! Archive. As the file is nearly 2GB large I simply put a PW so that Account is loaded unnecessary. Today, using v5.0.26.18 I wanted to access this Archive. I entered the PW (no problem) but I don't see my folders and eMails. A CTRL-Shift-ALT-L to recover lost folders returned an ERROR. Looking at the folder preferences with Explorer shows me that the file is in the expected size of 2GB. Question: [1] When has the file Format being change? Could this be the reason? [2] How o restore the folders and eMails that are present? Your help is much appreciated - thank you. -- best regards | Using The Bat! 5.0.26.18 Eddie | on Windows XP 5.1 | Build 2600 Service Pack 3 Current beta is 5.0.26.18 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Re: Filters aren't always used automatically
Title: Re: Filters aren't always used automatically I suspect the cause to be in base format differences/upgrade procedures. After upgrading TB through a path developers didn't anticipate (or through buggy versions), MB may have some internal data in an invalid state that causes auto-filtering to fail/be disabled regardless of settings. After uninstallation, removal of AddData\The Bat!\MAIL and registry key, reinstallation of TB 4, recreating the mailbox and filters and upgrading back, filters work. (I created MB from scratch - the messages were re-downloaded from the server but all the settings were gone, of course.) So, no idea how to troubleshoot this further without having source code. It could be anything. Recreating the mailbox should help. -- Best regards, Ivan mailto:v...@mail.mipt.ru Current beta is 5.0.26.18 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Dear Roelof, --- Roelof Otten / Wednesday 14. Dec 2011, 15:06:27 My own TB! Archive EC [1] When has the file Format being change? Could this be the reason? It was sure v4 that I used when creating that Archive. Youy could check whether the folders in the account have an .tbi or .tbn index file, the latter is for the new format. There are 247 .TBx files found whereas 13 are .TBN and the rest are .TBI - so there is a but a mess :( EC [2] How o restore the folders and eMails that are present? I let you know of the outcome. BTW - does this tip still apply despite I have .TBI and .TBN files? -- best regards | Using The Bat! 5.0.26.18 (ALPHA) Eddie | on Windows XP 5.1 | Build 2600 Service Pack 3 Current beta is 5.0.26.18 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hi Eddie, EC [1] When has the file Format being change? Could this be the reason? That was changed with v4.1 As you needed to upgrade (pay money) from v3 to be able to use v4.1 I don't know when or if you did that upgrade The first v4.1 release was the Christmas release of 2008, so if you've been current, the message base format should not be the problem. It was sure v4 that I used when creating that Archive. Had that issue once ; created TBK in v.4.2.1 and tried to import into v.5 - didn't import claiming that file is incorrect. As the second TBK imported without any problem I did blame it on file corruption. -- Best Regards, RS (FEDARA) The Bat! 5.0.24 Windows 7 x64 Professional (7601 Service Pack 1) Thursday, December 15, 2011 (14:41 ; GMT+8) Current beta is 5.0.26.18 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
