Dear Roelof, --- Roelof Otten / Thursday 15. Dec 2011, 11:35:22 My own TB! Archive EC BTW - does this tip still apply despite I have .TBI and .TBN files? Installing and using Voyager
Dear all, TB! Voyager (TB!v) is out for quit some times and I did follow a bit when I had the time and motivation. I usually work with TB! installed on my Notebook. But now I am seriously considering to install it on a USB drive and use it Occasionally. Du to lack of experience I need to ask those experienced Voyager Users some questions: [1] I would like to create a folder on the USB drive and have TB!v installed in there. Is that ok? [2] Does it need an installation or is TB!v just an .EXE to be placed in the folder? [3] Can the Data Folder be any that I have to choice to choose? [4] If I set TB!v to operate with OTFE enabled but my TB!pro does not have this feature turned on, can I still transfer data from TB!v to TB!pro without being encrypted on the TB!pro side? [5] How does the data transfer from TB!v to TB!pro being processed (pure practical handling)? For now those are the most important questions I have. Hope to hear from your experiences. Yep, the actual messages are stored in the .tbb file. The old index file was .tbi and the new index file is .tbn. They're used for faster access and storage of memos and flags. When TB finds a folder with only a .tbb file it'll build a new index file automatically. -- Groetjes, Roelof Moderator's have more fun than ##%@NO CARRIER http://www.voormijalleen.nl/ The Bat! 5.0.26.18 (ALPHA) Windows Vista 6.0 Build 6002 Service Pack 2 5 pop3 accounts, 3 imap account OTFE disabled Quad Core 2.4GHz 4 GB RAM pgpo3fhqkrC6T.pgp Description: PGP signature Current beta is 5.0.26.18 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Re: Filters aren't always used automatically
Hi, After uninstallation, removal of AddData\The Bat!\MAIL and registry key, reinstallation of TB 4, recreating the mailbox and filters and upgrading back, filters work. (I created MB from scratch - the messages were re-downloaded from the server but all the settings were gone, of course.) So, no idea how to troubleshoot this further without having source code. It could be anything. Recreating the mailbox should help. Confirmed! Now my TB! works with filters. Installed 4.X, setup and update to 5.X...works. I upgraded to 5 and had so may filter issues I went back to 4. My question is, did you have to completely delete everything and install from scratch. I can't do that, I have too many filters and lots of folders. Maybe RIT could provide a utility that scans all your settings/filters/folders databases etc. to verify they are OK and can work with 5 and maybe fix any inconsistencies it finds or report something that is not compatible... The normal maintenance center didn't seem to be enough for me. At this point, I would gladly pay RIT for the upgrade, but only if I don't have to jump through hoops to get it to work. What do you all think? Is this possible? -- Best regards, Joemailto:under...@igdc.com Current beta is 5.0.26.18 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hi, My question is, did you have to completely delete everything and install from scratch. I can't do that, I have too many filters and lots of folders. just a short answer, its ~6am and work calls ;). I case of 2 POP Accounts a made a backup of everything. After that i uninstalled TB!, delete the folder and installed the latest 4.X (search only MSI here in group). After that i restore only POPAccounts and setup IMAP completely new. Testing arround and setup latest 5.X.msi and get the *.26.18 over it. Thats it, works. **26.18 have a bug. options/Usersetting bring me a access violation. F.P.
