Re: TB non-closure prevents Windows shut down
I have to do that on occasion on Win 8 - it won't shut down and I have to kill it with TM TIP: If you ever get the splash screen and the bat will go no further, shut it down, clear the cache (and img folder although that might not be needed) Then run it as administrator. You can immediately shut it down and it will open -- Rick Progressives: Don't compromise with crazy v5.4.8 on Windows 6.2 Build 9200 Using all POP accounts I download all images Current beta is 5.4.8.0 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hello Rick, Thursday, September 19, 2013, 8:43:15 AM, you wrote: > You may never find it, but I hope you do! Interesting. Today when I went to shut down my computer, TheBat would not close. Just ignored clicking the red X and choosing Messages=>Exit. Acted as if I'd done nothing. I then tried using task manager to end the processes and it shut down properly, did the box with the completion bars running across and then shut down. So it looks like the problem is app->close message is getting lost under some conditions. As if you disable it when you're doing something for safety and then somehow forget to turn it back on. Similar to how the mouse cursor looses it's state sometimes. -- Ira Current beta is 5.4.8.0 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
