You can usually delete them by repeatedly pressing the Delete key, but I agree 
it's annoying how hard it is to delete these.

I have very similar problems with 32-bit installation. Every time on 
exit The Bat! main window disappears but after a while it displays the 
messages in small window: 

"The Bat! E-Mail Client by Ritlabs SRL has stopped working."

"This program has stopped working properly due to a problem. Close the 
program."

"[Close program]"

Clicking "Close program" link closes the message window but thebat.exe process 
still stay in Windows.
