[The Bat! 4.0.14.5] MicroEd Setting Auto-wrap

2008-02-24 Thread Volker Ahrendt
Hello, folks!

Just curious for a better understanding:

If in Options|Viewer/Editor|Editor preferences Auto-wrap is
*activated* for MicroEd, is it supposed to work also with pasted text
or not?

I know that auto-wrap causes automatic line breaks, if one types text
manually, but how is this feature supposed to work with pasted text?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers!

No. Although I know you don't like it, your only option is 'Edit/Paste
formatted' (Shift+Ctrl+Ins) or a 'Ctrl+L' after a normal paste.

I know that auto-wrap causes automatic line breaks, if one types text
manually, but how is this feature supposed to work with pasted text?

It doesn't affect pasted text.

Hello, MAU!

I know that auto-wrap causes automatic line breaks, if one types
text manually, but how is this feature supposed to work with pasted
 text?

 It doesn't affect pasted text.

Why is it so? Either auto-wrap is enabled and *all* text — manually
typed or pasted — will cause an automatic line break at the defined
right margin (70 characters or so). Or it is disabled and no text
will wrapped at all.

I do not understand in *this* case, where the difference between
typed and pasted text should be.

Who can enlighten me? :-)

BTW: Your signature delimiter seems to be broken (see below):

Hello, Paul!

Because it is *inconsistent*: Either auto-wrap is enabled and *all*
text — manually typed or pasted — will cause an automatic line
break or it is disabled and no text will wrapped at all.

It may be inappropriate to reformat pasted text. Especially when
someone is attempting to convey a graphic as text. When I paste and
want to reformat I automatically go [ALT][L]. If I am slow it takes
 1/2 second to do it.

Yes, that's how I have handled it for 7 years, but with 4.0.x.x a bug
appeared:

 https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=6842
(Title: Problem with [alt]+[L] in MicroEd)

The/My main problem is Step 2[*] of the bug description, but this
looong discussion already started with Step 1 and ended in a
closed/unresolved issue and this thread.

*) I have a problem with MicroEd when I paste unformatted text: […]

   2. After [alt]+[L] the line breaks are okay, but beginning of the
lines are not visible and a useless horizontal scrollbar
  occurs. […]

I think, I am going round in circles in this matter. ;-)

Good night!

The Design of the URL-Manager is still a dunge-hill (sorry).

- you can't see which URL belongs to actual message
- you can't use rules to allow/forbid (eMail tracking Links)
- you don't have option to disable it
- no options how you would like to use it
- (download all now - WIP)

The Design maybe was an drawing of the RAW Window, but not
an technological reflection.
