100% CPU usage in beta 19 20
Hi TBBETA Earlier in the week I raised the issue of lumpy TB! performance. using this new .20 beta the problem is more reproducible. The issue arises when Connection Centre fails (i.e. in my case it was with the recent 4 messages from MAU). I don't know why it fails, it just does on a random basis. The Connection centre hung - eating up 100% CPU. TB! etc was still responsive - (but slowly). The CC abort and delete task buttons were completely useless and did absolutely nothing at all, yet task manager confirmed TB! as the culprit. Killing TB restored normal operation, and when restarted TB! behaves normally. (presumably until the next connection failure) I'm using POP3 connectivity to an Exchange server on a hardwired LAN. I think we have some core comms issues in these builds which we haven't pinned down yet. Hello Graham, snipped I'm using POP3 connectivity to an Exchange server on a hardwired LAN. I think we have some core comms issues in these builds which we haven't pinned down yet. Anyone else got an opinion? I connect to my own mail server on my LAN (not Exchange, though) with different accounts and I have never observed what you describe. -- Best regards, Miguel A. FWIW I've not seen any behaviour like this here. I received MAU's messages just fine. -- Stuart Hemming Using The Bat! v3.0.9.20 Return on Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 2 Aided by BayesIt! 0.7.12 Pre-release, MyGate v1.0, rss2pop3 v1.2, SpamPal v1.70, MyMacros 1.11a and Universal Macro eXtender 2.1.1119 rc6 special. Hello Graham Earlier in the week I raised the issue of lumpy TB! performance. using this new .20 beta the problem is more reproducible. .. I know I'm talking to myself - but the problem appears to be if you hit SEND (immediate) message whilst the connection centre is already doing is scheduled send/receive (combined in my case). This causes things to hang-up here, requiring a TB! restart to get CPU usage down from 100% -- Regards Graham -- Notice: This e-mail message, together with any attachments, contains information of Merck Co., Inc.
