The 'None' option is not available in any of the menus.

As I have just verified, the 'bug' was introduced in 4.0.24.26.

4.0.24.25 does have 'None' as an option.

I can't confirm. It works, as well with right clik as with my

P.S.: There is no geen (none) in the Dutch translation, but I suppose

Strange thing is that, when I change language to English, the right
click context-menu is not translated, but is still in Dutch.

I don't know if that has anything to do with your problem.

Confirmed.
At first I thought it might be because the selected message had no
assigned colour group, but after assigning a colour to a message I
couldn't set it back, because the generic colour group still wasn't
available. :-(

Yes, i can see this too. You can work around, if you create a Group
named none, but this ist not the removal of the defined Color-Group and
it is not exactly the Status which Messages have with default Group.
