Re: Date and Time Preview in Preferences
Hello Maxim, MM What do you think about removing the date/time format section in MM the preferences dialog and solely using windows formatting? If the MM user needs to change the format, it will be possible to do in MM Windows Control Panel / Regional and language setting. Also, when MM using Windows formatting, The Bat! will be able to use language of MM The Bat! interface, not Windows interface, since Windows API calls MM to format date/time accept any language, not only the language currently used by Windows? MM This will allow us to resolve the issue MM https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=8830 I've given this some thoughts. * When you entirely remove the Date/Time format section from preferences, you eliminate the possibility to format the message received information based on whether it's a mail from today, this week or earlier. (Did I get that correctly?) I guess some people will miss that (and would get used to the new situation a while later). But there will be questions about it. * This code change would be an improvement for those people who mostly write mails in a language other than the language set in Windows. They could insert a correctly formatted date in mail editor (Utilities / Insert) depending on the language set in The Bat. (I guess, that's part of the deal, too?). * Do you already know how this new situation would affect the macros that support a language parameter? Like the ones mentioned here: 1578919754224164...@ritlabs.com It is now the question what weights heavier: To make things easier for people who would appreciate the new The-Bat-Language-based formats (i.e. people whose OS-language and correspondence language differ), or to satisfy people who appreciate the possibility to define the format for todays, this weeks or earlier mails. And I don't know which of the two groups is the bigger one. Juli 2009, 17:43:4= Hello Tbbeta, A new beta of The Bat! will support the following feature: Macros that accept date format as the first parameter now can also accept the language as the second parameter. If the language is specified, the Windows formatting is using. The language can be specified for the following date macros: %DATE, %ODATE, %ORcvDate; the date is formatted according to http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd317787(VS.85).aspx . Additionally, when formatting a date, you can use “L” format specifier to get DATE_LONGDATE. Date and Time Preview in Preferences
Hello all, can anyone confirm that the date (and time) preview in Preferences / Date/Time Format don't work properly? As I write this message it's 1st of August but one preview shows 2nd of August another one 31st of July. The time preview is correct. I checked the versions from 5.0.22.1 till 5.0.14 on W7. In 5.0.22.2 it's even worse: The month's name is no longer displayed as a word. This issue has also been reported on the German batboard.net Best regards, mse -- Using The Bat! v5.0.14 with German language file [4.2.x_de – Rev. 2010-02-01] Operating system: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 Current beta is 5.0.22.2 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hello Raymund, In 5.0.22.2 it's even worse: The month's name is no longer displayed as a word. RT Well, mmm doesn't but MMM does. True. And strange... For the day and the year, you need small letters, for the month capital ones.
