Edit as New broken

2021-05-29 Thread Ira
Hi

When I choose "Edit as New", the original text is all included and the header
is proper, but the text in the message is all included as "quoted text"  as if
I choose Reply, not "Edit as New."

5.0.12.16 Edit as New adds a template

2011-06-17 Thread Rick
5.0.12.16 Edit as New adds a template - it is much like a forwarded message.
This doesn't strike me as correct behavior. I would think it would be JUST the
message to be edited

Confirmations or corrections anyone?

Comments to Edit as new function

2011-06-17 Thread Marek Mikus
Hello,
I am waiting for it many years, great addition finally.

From my POV, there must be at least two improvements:

1) first of all, sender must be not be preserved, when I edit message from
TBBETA as new, original sender is preserved, there is no logic for this,
such mail will not be sent through my mailserver

2) when I want to edit original message as new, rescipient field should be
empty, who wants to send new message to same rescipient with same text?

FW Why don't you copy the already sent message to the outbox and
FW edit the header and the message there? This is already possible and
FW should suit your needs.

It isn't always easy to remember all of the magic features
of different folders in TB! and I figured that, since the
existing right-click menu on an email message already has
at LEAST 50 (yes, I counted them) choices, who would be
bothered by just one more that would provide a feature that
other email programs provide?

Of course, if there's a TB! macro programming language that
would allow me to create a macro that does this *AND* add
the macro to the right-click menu, then I'm golden -- as long
as the macro doesn't get lost on a version upgrade.

Edit as New?

2009-12-09 Thread Steven P Vallière

Didn't previous a version (or versions) of TB have a menu
option for messages to Edit as new? I may be thinking
of some other email program, but the only other one I use
is Thunderbird, and it doesn't have that option (and I don't
think it ever did).

It is not uncommon for me to want to re-send an old message,
sometimes to the same people, sometime to new people, and
sometimes with additional or updated information.

While it is /possible/ to do this in TB by cutting the old
message and pasting it into a new one, that loses the old
addressee lists, which are tedious enough to enter now that
the address drop-menu is gone from the To:, CC: and BCC:
fields in the Edit Mail Message window.

If I can manually get Edit as New back on the menu and/or
get the drop-lists back in the address fields, could someone
/please/ tell me how? Thanks!
