New spam - bayes filters not working
I am recently receiving a new kind of spam. Spammers instead of writing a text inside the email are attaching a gif file containing the ad and the product image. The subject and the text of the email are always changing and also the name of the attachment is always changing. I have tried to teach both bayesit and bayes filter but after a month the spam is still passing through the filters. I suppose this is because the ad is inside the image and cannot be read by the filter that only reads the subject and the text (that is randomly chosed). Anyone having the same problem and any suggested solution? -- Regards, Fabio Current beta is 3.63.08 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/

Re: New spam - bayes filters not working
Hello Fabio Cipparone, Anyone having the same problem and any suggested solution? I have the feeling that many people are asking non-beta questions here, because they think to find better answers among the tbbeta members; and I think this is a little bit unfair towards the TBUDL users. -- Best regards, Alexander (http://www.neurowerx.de - ICQ 238153981) We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them. -- Albert Einstein Current beta is 3.63.08 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/

Anyone having the same problem and any suggested solution? Maybe new to you but have been around for awhile I'm afraid. To me these image-type spam seem to fool the Bayesian filters. With the TB anti-spam plug-ins, I have had the best results with AGAVA but not totally effective. Some of this spam types still get through and makes you wonder. Adding a TB filter action derived from something common from the message source of your spam which might be like* Message Source contains Content-Type: image/gif;* works for me but possibly could some nail legitimate email. -- steverio TB!v3.62.14 TBV!v3.63.07 Windows XP Pro 5.1 Build 2600 SP2 OTFE Current beta is 3.63.08 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/
