Hello Peter!

On Wednesday, May 04, 2005, 3:07 PM, you wrote

 One that can't wait ...

Indeed, it cannot wait. I just went through your steps and got the
same result, with one exception: TB! closed itself without my invoking
the Task Manager (sorry, has encountered a problem and has to close,
... send report--the typical Windows error message).

 Test case:
 1. Open Customise
 2. Select Standard (toolbar)
 3. Add Misc / Edit Colour Groups
 4. X the window
 5. Answer Yes to 'apply changes'
 6. Results:

The exception unknown software exception (0x0eedfade) occurred in
 the application at location 0x7c59bbf3.

The instruction at 0x77f88216 referenced memory at
0x0010. The memory could not be written.

The instruction at 0x00a89604 referenced memory at
0x0004. The memory could not be read.

The instruction at 0x00b46a81 referenced memory at
0x0030. The memory could not be read.

 etc etc etc

Used Task Manager to kill TB!

 Any confirmations?

Confirmed. Absolutely confirmed.

Hi Peter Ouwehand,

Wednesday, May 4, 2005
you let us know -at least in parts- :

 6. Results:

The exception unknown software exception (0x0eedfade) occurred in
 the application at location 0x7c59bbf3.

The instruction at 0x77f88216 referenced memory at 0x0010.
The memory could not be written.

 could not be read.

The instruction at 0x00b46a81 referenced memory at 0x0030. The memory
 could not be read.

 etc etc etc

Used Task Manager to kill TB!

 Any confirmations?

Fully confirmed, with two divergences: the first error message had a
different number (flush it anyway) and the last point: I saw TB being
closed by windows after closing all boxes.

Hi Peter Ouwehand,

you let us know -at least in parts- :

Yes, its main window was closed. But here (using W2K) the application
errors kept on coming and TB was still listed in Task Manager. I guess
your XP killed TB all by itself.

Sometimes I think, MS was quite busy in some houseworks. It is sometimes
more stable here than W2k -despite all the games my son installed on another
bootable partition of my HDD, that OS is a good thing.
This evening I get two sober-attached mails an hour and this is sobering
me up again :-\ Well, it is as it is.

All that's left here from aborted task TB is an icon in systray which
will disappear when my mouse hovers over it. No exe-rest in TM here.
