Re: The Bat v3.64.03 BETA

2006-01-06 Thread MAU
Hello Curtis,

I see you complain about this with about every beta. You probably have
explained it a thousand times already but, is there a BT report open
where I can read what your problem actually is?

There was a time when you could make TB! adjust all columns *together*
to fill the message list pane width. As you adjust the TB! window, the
columns would expand or contract dynamically to fill the space. There
was a toggle switch for this in the view mode config dialog.

This is quite different from the thread column auto-expanding as threads
 are expanded.

Thanks for the explanation. I guess I wasn't aware about this feature
(or the lack of it) because I always use TB at full screen.

Is there a BT report open? Maybe it is not a bug though and the feature
was removed for some technical reasons when the UI was overhauled.

2006-01-06 Thread Martin Schuster
Hello MAU,

Is there a BT report open? Maybe it is not a bug though and the feature
was removed for some technical reasons when the UI was overhauled.

The original discussion took place a while ago starting with
mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] but as far as I can
see not Bugreport or wish was posted then.

Me got used to the new behavior, so the need for action is very low. I
adjusted the column size to fit on my smallest screen (my laptop) and
can live with the smaller columns on the other computers, too.

Alto: If you really want this feature back maybe you should post a
wish, that I would subsequently support. I don't suppose it is a bug,
as the functionality plus the option setting disappeared at the same
time. Looks intentional.

Thank you for testing. When graduating to the next version, I have
experienced anomalies that were due to the presence of the previous
version's tbuser.def file. Because I hate recreating all the
customizations (and who can remember them all), I used the tbuser.def
file from 3.64.01. Because of Roger's and your negative results, I
tried again without the tbuser.def file. Same thing happened. So here
are the steps to duplicate:

1. Open the VF. Message preview pane is enabled here.
2. Enter the criteria you want to search and choose the scope as any
part
3. Make certain that the only folder that will be searched is the VF
you opened.
4. I wanted to search for messages after a certain date, so enter a
date from 3 months back.
5. Start your search and see what happens.

Maybe it's my system, but I think it is rather generic.

Guten Morgen,

The messagelist column autosize option is still missing.

May I respectfully ask - calm as can be - why this is the case? None
of the versions since the GUI-change in v3.5 were usuable here because
of this option that has intentionally been removed for no obvious
reason.

I am wrong to assume that this is being done just to spike me, aren't
I? So what in the name of mother Dixie is keeping you from looking up
the code for this option in any archive version of TheBat, copy it
over to the current version, and finally be done with it? (Calm, I
said. Perhaps I'll end here.)

Hello Alto,

The messagelist column autosize option is still missing.

I see you complain about this with about every beta. You probably have
explained it a thousand times already but, is there a BT report open
where I can read what your problem actually is?

Dropped back to 3.64.01. This version does not search on a virtual
folder. In fact, I cannot get the search window to close without
killing TB.
