TOP returns first N lines of a message, but if N is very large, it will return 
the whole message as in case with RETR.

We have added this feature because there are some freemail servers (mostly 
webmail-based) that always delete (or mark as read) a message after RETR, but 
don't do that after TOP.

There are some servers (not quite usual) that remove a message that have been 
retrieved by RETR, so if you will get it from one computer , you will be unable 
to also get it on another. This option allows messages to be retrieved from 
multiple computers from that non-usual servers.
