 Either of you using IMAP.

As you can see, I went back to 3.65 msi using all IMAP functions and no
problems. Don't know if there is any correlation.

I've had these problems for a while, with various severity - 3.65 and
3.65.01 are pretty much usable, and crash usually only when I connect to my
computer remotely (Remote Desktop), and later when I again resume working
locally, while 3.65.02 and many versions before 3.65 crashed after running
for a few minutes (or even less).

I do have 2 IMAP accounts, and I'm pretty sure that the errors are related
to (at least) one of them.

0. Good job

1. You should NOT post any MSI without testing here in beta...
Remember, we had issues with untested MSIs in the past. So far, I did
not see any problem with it, just I think, we should have the practice
to check EVERYTHING before that goes to the official website...

2. Very nice, that you have a roadplan at the What's new link!!

3. I would make this changes on that page (if you put something on the
site, that should be -close to- perfect English. It is just a beauty
patch, I make the suggestion to improve the system, not to
criticize!!!):

My suggestion:

[+] Minimize on close option implemented
[-] (#0005580) VF search (filter) in 'Text' field did not work
[-] (#0005582) Autocomplete suggestion list box doesn't disappear, when user
fills
not matching part of name
[-] (#0005553) When user enters text and autocompletes it in header field,
everything disappears after pressing Enter
[-] (#0005559) Browsing virtual folder via Enter key or menu item
didn't work
[-] (#0005562) AV when exiting The Bat! without closing messages
with open message source
[-] (#0005565) Groupbox in Folder - Properties did not fit in the window
[-] (#0005566) Sound tab fixed in Folder - Properties
[-] (#0004852) Sometimes messages didn't get filtered in Inbox
[-] (#0005563) AV and runtime error after creating new IMAP folder
[-] (#0005557) Lock up when searching any part in a VF
[-] (#0005502) F1 didn't work in message view (not main window)

(it still has issues - Missing context help topic 11024 when hitting
F1 on an open mail in full window...

[-] Fixes in IMAP filtering
[-] Fixes in IMAP message list retrieval
[-] Import from MS Office 2000 Outlook and earlier didn't work in The Bat!
since version 2.05.
[*] Better error logging for MAPI Exchange connections
[-] When importing messages from MS Outlook or retrieving from MS Exchange

Icons and MSI installation

2006-01-16 Thread Richard Wakeford
Hello,

I've never mentioned this before as it's so trivial. I have my own Icon
set and, every time I do an MSI install, I have to restart The Bat!
twice as the first start up after the install brings up the standard
icons. I close down, restart straight away and there are my own icons.

As I said, nothing drastic but I was wondering if anyone else is having
the same problem as I know at least one other TB! user is using my icon
set?

Here it takes 1/2 second on a notebook w/ PIII 750 512mb RAM. If you
do not have USB 2.0 capable ports on your machine it will take
considerably longer. I have also noted that OTFE on Win XP takes 3
times longer than on Win 2K. You have Win2K SP4 installed so the USB
2.0 driver should be installed if your ports are capable.

3.65.03 - IMAP

2006-01-16 Thread Stuart Cuddy
Hello tbbeta,

Just in case anyone was still interested, IMAP problems are still
  plentiful in this version.

  1) Folder counts do not add up.
  2) Still get duplicates regularly.
  3) Still get blank screens when moving from folder to folder.

  On the bright side

  1) Filtering seems to be working better.
  2) I am not getting warnings from fastmail about using up all my
  bandwidth.

Re: Icons and MSI installation

2006-01-16 Thread MAU
Hello Richard,

I've never mentioned this before as it's so trivial. I have my own Icon
set and, every time I do an MSI install, I have to restart The Bat!
twice as the first start up after the install brings up the standard
icons. I close down, restart straight away and there are my own icons.

I've never seen that happen here. Otherwise, as you say in your other
message, I would have brought it up here.

When you say the first start up after install, do you mean when the
install wizard asks you if you want to start TB? Or is it after exiting
the install wizard?

The reality is that I don't think anyone IS interested any more. The
majority of serious IMAP users seem to have vanished from this list and
Ritlabs has not carried through its promise to concentrate on IMAP issues.

As a sample of one I don't use TB! any more (not even installed) but I'm
strangely drawn to this list in the expectation of a breakthrough
version that might make me 'come home'. Silly really, there's more
chance of six numbers on the lottery this weekend!
