Re: 41 composition windows

2001-11-15 Thread Markus Gloede

Hi,

Ninia wrote:

Whenever I click on a mailto link in IE, The Bat opens 41 composition
windows. If I use another mailprogram (i.e. Outlook Express) it does
not happen. It is only in The Bat.

Is there anybody who knows about this strange phenomenon and knows a way
 to get rid of it?

I'm encountering something similar: when I click a mailto: link in IE the
browser goes wild. A new browser window gets opened, again with the
mailto: link which causes a new browser window to open and so on. I have
to kill my machine to get out of this loop.

In my case I have the hunch that my MAPI settings are corrupted (for MAPI
testing purposes the default mailer in IE is set to Outlook).

To sum it up: in your case it was OK that the Bat started with a new
message window (by now you changed your settings). What was weird, was
that in your case 41 windows were opened (just one window shy of the magic
42 :).

Regards,

Markus

Thomas Thanks, but trying to read the fitler details it turns out I need a

Thomas OK, this needs to be translated. Why are some action fa and others
Thomas fao? What is faoHKCheckMsg? And these:
Thomas faoAdvAddressOut,faoAdvNoGroups - what exactly do they mean?

Geez, maybe someone will build a help module to make this

It only looks like DOS if you want it to. You have your choice of
GUIs, OR you can totally build your own. The existing GUIs are much more
customizable, I mean totally customizable than windows. Of course, you
do have the option at any time to work in up to 18 windows for different
projects at the same time. OR you can switch to the command line in a
DOS console.

Want to see what different GUIs look like? Go to www.mandrake.com and
see screen shots. or go to www.ximian.com .

it would require some time to Get used to a whole new OS.

Yes, but in the end, you just click on any icons to start programs.
There are plenty of books, user groups, on-line help to get you started.
Today, 30% of the worlds servers are using Linux, and Linux has a bigger
desktop following than the Mac, over 5% and growing.

I am very excited that TB! will be ported to Linux. I will gladly
purchase it again.

Also a 1 GIG download over 56k isnt my best bet either. i dont know
 anyone with Disks of Linux.

go to www.cheapbytes.com ... get just about any distro on disk for just
$2 to $5, and you can install it next to windows, and it will read/write
your window files too.

Using Mailticker, Messages veer of to right

2001-11-15 Thread .:Kevc978:.

Hi TB users,

When i double-click a message on Mailticker, then sometimes accidently
left click in ht emiddle of an Email, it seems to veer off to the
right, seemingly cuttong off the left part of the message, this
happens a lot, and to fix this i have to end up minimising the message
and scrolling to the left, this is definetely Cosmetic issue that
needs fixed as it is COMPLETELY annoying, and if you actually open
messages into full view, you will notice this problem when trying to
highlight text or accidently click near the end of the message.

I dont know if this can be fixed, but ive reported it to the Beta
Mailing list to... to hopefully get this Thing fixed once and for all.

Multiple Windows from mailto: clicks

2001-11-15 Thread andy stenz

1. I am new to The Bat!, but it rocks.
2. I noticed I (like others) was getting multiple (about 70) IE Windows
when i clicked on a mailto: hyperlink (in any program).
3. How I solved it (on my computer):
Go to (I am using IE 6) Tools--Internet Options
Under the Programs tab -- By Email - Use the drop down menu and choose The Bat!

I hope this helps!
