They might be using a different value for hostname, ie, if you're
using dial-up, outlook/becky might use the resolved hostname for that,
while TB! uses the hostname found on the computer.

As Pit already wrote, there appears to be room for improvement for TB.

Personally I tend to use stunnel, this runs as a service locally on my

point my servers at 127.0.0.1 and set up stunnel to do the real work..

Yes, TB is contacting the server, and from the start I was
convinced that it was a server or settings problem. I even
contacted the people at that server, but they had no ideas.
Then it became clear that the problem was limited to TB, and
it was then I turned to this eminent list and got help.

So the best best is to make it fail safe and use
only allowed parts of a computers name on The Bat!'s side.

I would say this is a very good idea, since this type of
trouble is virtually unsolvable for any normal human.

Connection Centre - minimizing itself

2003-03-31 Thread leea
I've noticed that when you manually run check for new mail the connection centre
window appears and runs - as it should. However, when I assign a hotkey to check all
accounts' new mail, the connection centre minimizes itself to the taskbar which
obviously doesn't let me see the status or how many new msgs are coming in. Each time
I hit check all accounts for new mail, I have to then open the minimized window in the
taskbar. Not quite helpful as it seems. Click the check new mail button and it works
perfectly.

Is there a way to not minimize CC on check mail for all accounts?

Greetings Bat Listers,

This is your monthly message from the moderation team to remind you
of the primary purpose of this discussion list.

To review the list rules, follow the link at the end of this message.

 TBUDL Mission statement

The TBUDL list has been set up for the purpose of discussing The
Bat! and how to use it. It is a community of users ready and able to
help new users get to grips with some of the capabilities of this
flexible email client. More complex issues are discussed on the
TBTECH list (see below for details).

Simply send messages to [EMAIL PROTECTED] to send it to the
whole list.

See the notes at the end of this message for details about how to
manage your list membership or to leave the list.

It would probably be a good idea for you to set up a folder to keep
TBUDL messages in. If you do this, the next most useful thing to
have in place is an automatic filter to move mail from your inbox
into your TBUDL folder.

Set up a filter for incoming mail which looks for
StringsLocationPresence
Reply-to:.*TBUDL@ Kludges Yes
Options: Regular expressions (Checked).

The TBUDL Rogues Gallery

There is a TBUDL Rogues Gallery, letting you put a face to the
name. The gallery can be viewed at
http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/rogues.html

Want to add your face to the gallery? Here's how:

Send your picture by e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED]. Ideally you
should provide it as a 120x144 jpeg image.

For those of you who do not know how or do not have an image editing
program to do this, send the image to Marck and he'll do it.

Make sure you include your name as you want it to appear on the page.
