REG EXPRESSIONS

2004-10-10 Thread TBUDL
Hello TBUDL

I spent an hour last night reading up on how to create REG EXPRESSIONS and then add
them to my "TheBat!blacklist.txt" with a huge number of spam email addresses. The only
entry in there was a TEXT entry for the first found piece of Junk mail and then I
added my REGEXPR... to individual lines below it. This morning TB! found more junk and
added another TEXT entry and deleted all of my hard work!

http://www.lkcc.org/achim/thebat/readme.htm
specifically states that:
Select any path and filename you want. You can edit this file with every text editor.
Be sure that you seperate every blacklist search by a new line! You can use plain text
strings or regular expressions! In front of a textstring write TEXT: and in front of a
regular expression write REGEXP:

I do have the option checked to autoinsert spam sender to blacklist. Is this why it is
overwriting? But if I dont check this it will not gather a list of bad addresses?

I compelled to point out that these words are usually (indeed almost
invariably) attributed to Douglas Adam of h2g2 fame, not Dilbert!!

Further experimentation reveals that the machine must be rebooted once
the PGP SDK crashes; restarting the service doesn't resolve the problem.
This is not an acceptable situation.

PGP SDK crashing fairly consistently

2004-10-10 Thread Anthony G. Atkielski
Actually the PGP SDK service seems to crash quite frequently whenever I
use PGP functions in TB 3.0. It didn't do this in 2.x. And nothing
else crashes it.

It is easy (for me) to answer.

Ohh... Ok, I saw, someone already answered it. Then I write the
financial part: companies MUST buy professional version. Private
persons can choose.

All the best, Vili

Ok I can do nothing and let learn on the fly, but I have about 500
spam messages that I would like to use to train.

That page is really old. It says it is for "This how-to is current to
the capabilities present in The Bat! v1.54b10"

thc> but it seems not working with version 3

Here is a page that I found with a search of the FAQ section
at http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
(which is the URL at the bottom of every post to tbudl):

http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/manage.html

This is for v. 2.xx , but these templates and macros for doing mailing
lists and mass distributions have not changed in v. 3.x , so far as I
am aware.

I'm a non-techie type. There are people subscribed here who have
actually done this and are doing it. Some of them should chime in on
your thread pretty soon, also.

Hope I was at least some help. :)

Do you mean a one off list that won't often change, or do you mean a
list to which others can subscribe and unsubscribe 'automatically'
without you (necessarily) knowing it?

In the beginning stages of the NFS that occurred to me too. Was one
