Re: Cannot Assign ENTER as keyboard shourcut

2005-12-12 Thread MAU
Hello Chris,

I was trying to switch the behavior of Shift+F2 (Queue in Outbox) and
Ctrl+Enter (Send Now). Using the Customizer, I found the correct
entries. However, when I tried to assign Ctrl+Enter to Queue in
Outbox, I found that pressing ENTER was the same as clicking the
Assign button. Therefore, I could not add the shortcut. Is there some
trick to do this, or is this a bug?

Yes, Enter and Space are tricky shortcuts to assign. Do this:

1.- Assign any other shortcut you can easily identify, let's say for
example Ctrl+F10 or something even more 'unique'.
2.- Close TB
3.- In your MAIL directory look for a file called 'tbuser.def' and open
it with a text editor (Notepad will do).
4.- Search for the shortcut you have assigned, Ctrl+F10 in this
example. You can search for it including the quote marks if you wish.
5.- You should get to a line that says:
shortcut Ctrl+F10
6.- Make sure there are not any more occurrences of this line. If there
are, I suggest you try with a more 'unique' shortcut.
7.- Replace Ctrl+F10 with Ctrl+Enter and save the modified
'tbuser.def'
8.- Re-start TB. Your shortcut should now work (and even show in the
Customise window).

Pah...

Please NO more features - get what's there working right - I can't promote

Have you read my proposal? It starts by saying:

,- [ ]
| As an alternative to the new option introduced in v3.63.09 (Beta) to
| disallow copying and moving messages to Outbox, I would like to propose
| what I consider a much more elegant and intuitive solution: the

So, it is an _alternative_ to something they are already introducing and
which is not at all intuitive or elegant.

Hello MAU,

So, it is an alternative to something they are already introducing and
which is not at all intuitive or elegant.

I forgot to add... This is the new feature as announced in TBBeta by
Maxim Masiutin when announcing the last beta:

,- [ ]
| We've implemented Outbox Protection Feature.
|
| It is currently OFF by default. If you add Registry DWORD Value
| CopyToOutboxProhibited=1 to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RIT\The Bat!,
| The Bat! will prohibit copying messages to Outbox from other folders.
| You will be only able to foward, redirect, etc . messages, which will
| lead to creation of new messages in Outbox, but you will not be able to
| copy (or move) messages to Outbox.
|
| When this option is ON, and you click Copy to folder menu item, the
| Outbox folder is not shown in the list. Also, if you try to use
| Drag-And-Drop to copy messages to Outbox, the cursor gets prohibited
| shape.
|
| Please let us know whether it should be ON by default.
|
| We have some reports from corporate users that being able to drag and
| drop messages to outbox folder and have them sent is a potentially very
| dangerous feature for corporate users.

No, the dial-up login details come with email addresses at the ISP.
So, you sign up for a dial-up account wiht the ISP, they automatically

what I understand is meant by ISPs email address.

I meant the boxed retail versions of TB that had a sticker on them with an
