I don't know what version you are using but in the Status version you can add
email addresses, email domains or groups to tagging off so that, even with
MSGTAG switched on, those messages would be sent without tagging.

AAMOF I have now added thebat.dutaint.com to the tagging off group and will
be sending this message with MSGTAG turned ON.

We'll see if that works. :-)

RO Just wondering.
RO Why don't you print everything automatically on receipt with the same

RO Eight years ago I switched to TB because it was the only mail client I

Ordinarily that would be a good idea and I thank you for it but, each
message from her may contain simple text, HTML, a Word document or MS
Excell or all of the above. Therefore, each 'message' has to be
handled individually and usually differently from the previous.

Miguel's suggestion works out best so far. When I'm finished
processing all the messages I select all and click the trash can which
moves them to the daughter folder.

It seems to have worked. The little arrow in the tray icon starts to move, but
immediately stops with a sound while the message is sent.

Re: Inbox Synchronization in IMAP with TB

2008-07-22 Thread Alto Speckhardt
Hi Bob,

Is there a way to have TB synchonize THAT MESSAGE the moment I
select it? I believe that is how Evolution is set by default.

It is already supposed to work this way.

There is an option in IMAP fine tune named When browsing, receive
only msg text. Make sure this is disabled, it has never worked and
causes excactly what you are seeing.

You can manually force reloading a single message by selecting it and
choosing Reload from the context menu.

Apart from this, welcome to IMAP TheBat Style.

A second question - if my synchronizing is set at message headers and
text, will it also at least alert me that there is an attachment, so
I will know to then do a full synchronization for that message?

In theory, yes, and you will not have to synchronize manually because
the new message should be retrieved automatically on selection. Again,
in theory.

Yes, although one can also choose to show a message stating MSGTAG was used to
track the reading.

I'll send you a message in a PM in which the message is shown.

Of course if the addressee doesn't use html viewing, nothing the sender still
has no confirmation...

Hi Alto (do you sing in the opera?),

Please forgive my humor! The great Marian Anderson was an alto. I think
Christa (Krista?) Ludwig from Germany (as I recall) was an alto, also.

I will double-check that - thanks.

Thank you.

BTW, on a tip from (another) friend in Germany, I just installed and tried
Opera's G2 mailer in IMAP. It is the easiest to set up of all - even
simpler than Evolution - and it works great Try it. Its
implementation seems brilliant and user-friendly.

Ok. Thank you. These little glitches and detailed settings in TB (and
even more so in Mulberry) makes it less user-friendly than some (like
Evolution and Opera M2). Thunderbird is equally complex to properly set
up.

Thanks for writing.

 Thanks for the info.

Do a feature Request to the Guys of MSGTAG, The_Bat! could start
