You still have the tab for TheBat at bottom of screen to click on - to
 get back to your email.

Or you try to do this with Keypad like: ALT+TAB (shows Tasklist and goes
to previous active Application)

Hello MFPA,

This is what you said on Thu, 13 Nov 2008 20:25:36 + your time:

Can anybody suggest a stable post-4.0.34.13 beta to upgrade to so I
can alter some folder options without messages going AWOL?

I don't know about an older release, but beta 18 is available:

http://www.ritlabs.com/download/files3/the_bat/beta/tb403418.rar

This folder issue is reported to have been fixed in beta 13, so I shall try
this out as well.

Oops! I'm afraid I bottled out of using this as it is an alpha version
(warns you when loading), not a beta (the link I got it from had it listed
as a beta), and it warned me about converting all indexes before
continuing... so I bailed out and reverted to the current stable release,
coward that I am!

Doh!

4.0.34.15 to 4.0.34.19 and 4.0.34.21 are all available from links like
the one you posted. A quick look at the TBBETA archives confirms them
all as ALPHA versions.

Perhaps I should go back to an earlier version to avoid the folder
properties problem. Maybe 4.0.28.3 or 4.0.24, assuming there's no
known issues with reverting from 4.0.34 to either of these?

Thank you, Marek. I have now switched to 4.0.32.4 and seem to be able
to edit folder properties without issue so far. (-:
