The user name will be on the "Transport" tab, in the "Receive mail" section. 
The second box, which is called "User" will probably contain your gmail 
address. Maybe without the "@gmail.com" or whatever. And it might have 
"recent:" in front of it.

I  don't know if it will help, or not. But try checking both. Once you
tick the first, the second one will not be grayed out.
