MW This morning I received two instances of W32/Gibe-F, which were not
MW filtered. Also, if I run Folder-Check for viruses and select the Quarantine
MW folder no viruses are identified.

It's working here, or rather it was at 1.15am this morning, haven't
had a virus since.

Thought - just sent myself a copy of the eicar test file and that was
picked immediately.

Suggest you check SAV itself.

DB but all I get is the following where the cookie should be:

DB Cannot open file C:\Program Files\The
DB Bat!\MAIL\Templates\cookies.txt

Try with the quotes the other way round!

%WRAPPED=%COOKIE='t:\the bat\quotes.txt'

works here!

The URL prefix

2003-09-09 Thread Mark Adams

I'm using The Bat V2 (although this appeared to be the same in V1.X)
and I've noticed a problem with embedded URL's in messages.

If the message contains a URL in this format http://foobar.com then
The Bat correctly identifies it as a URL and makes it a hot spot.

But if it is sent in this format URL:http://foobar.com then it is
not.

RFC 1738 discusses this format and while support for this method of
doing things isn't required it is one of the more common methods of
quoting URLs in plain text.

Am I missing a switch or does The Bat just not support this?
Hopefully it's the former as cutting and pasting URL's is getting to
be a pain!

Regards

Mark

Okay that works, and I guess that also answers the question as to
whether or not there's a switch to turn on URL: recognition.

It's just that it yet another step to have to perform and I'm surprised
that something as well featured as the Bat doesn't support a very
common form of URL embedding.

Now how I post that to the wish/obvious omission list? :-)

Just to add my experience.

On the 2nd September I emailed SoftJam telling then when I purchased

This was the reply :-

Altova are offering 50% off the price of The Bat! version 2 to all

They are not offering any free upgrades.

The upgrade is available for ordering from our web site.

The upgrade cost me 15.80 UK pounds inc. Tax.

Sophos Antivirus

2003-09-03 Thread Mark Adams

Can any point me in the direction of the BAV file for Sophos
Antivirus and V2.

I searched the archives of the Beta list and found
ftp://ftp.ritlabs.com/pub/the_bat/bav/SophosNT.BAV
but that refuses an anonymous connection.

Thanks
