LAN connectioin
How do I get The Bat! to use my local area network? I changed the setting under network administration and it accepted it but it still looks for the dial up when I try to check my mail. OK window on startup
Dear Tbudl, I am using 3.5. When I launch The Bat! I have started getting a little window that appears behind the splash screen. All it has is a speech balloon with 'i' in it and an OK button but TB does not come up until I either close the window or click on the OK button. I would be grateful to know how to get rid of it. Re[2]: MAPI again
Hi Karin, Thanks for your message. I followed the advice on installing MAPI. when I go to SettingsĀ¦Control PanelĀ¦Mail I now get a warning message saying "You need more memory or system resources. Close some windows and try again." Nothing else seems to think I need either. It happens if I reboot and go there straight afterwards. Everything else seems to work. Any ideas? using The Bat! 1.47 Halloween Edition on a Pentium 200MMX 64MB ram and Windows 95 Best wishes, Roymailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Wednesday, October 25, 2000, 11:36:49 PM, you wrote: KS On 25-10-2000 at 21:06, Dierk Haasis kindly wrote: OK, seems that some or most of you have made it: MAPI works. Well, I now have installed TB! 1.47 on two machines and both do not show any sign of MAPI with TB! Here - at home - I would now with MAPI like to use TB! as e-mail client for Agent (in the rare circumstances when I answer to a post by e-mail). The option in Agent is still greyed out, even after a restart of Windows. KS Oomph. I fought with MAPI, Agent and TB for a few hours KS after I had definitely switched to TB, slightly under a KS month ago, and for the life of me I couldn't. Agent would KS either crash on me or it would insist on bringing up KS Netscape Messenger as my mailer. KS But now I fixed it. Here's what I did: KS * click MAPI in Anget under Options | User and System KS Profile and set it to use address format: %1. KS * Download the new TB mapi.dll (still in beta) from KS http://www.ritlabs.com/the_bat/beta.html . Unzip KS the .dll and put it in your TB program directory. KS (Incidentelly, I have tried this whole procedure before KS with the previous TB beta version of mapi.dll, and then KS it didn't work. Cheers to the developpers for solving KS this one!) KS * Close and restart TB. KS * Try sending an e-mail message from within Agent. If it KS doesn't work and brings up a different mail program, KS * Close TB and start it from the command line _once_ with KS the parameter \InstallMAPI: as in: KS c:\internet\thebat\thebat \InstallMAPI KS * Go to Agent and try once again. Now it works! KS At least for me... You may indeed need to install MAPI for KS Agent first, if you've never used Agent with MAPI before. On KS http://www.geocities.com/ResearchTriangle/Node/9157/agentmapi.html KS you'll find instructions on how to do this, as Ming-Li KS kindly pointed out. A few years ago I run this method once KS and ever after Eudora (bye, bye, unfaithful lover!) acted as KS my default mail client from within Agent. KS purring KS And now TB deals smoothly with the odd private reply to a KS Usenet posting. Yummie. It gets tuned nicer and nicer ;-) KS - K - -- -- View the TBUDL archive at http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com To send a message to the list moderation team double click here: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe from TBUDL, double click here and send the message: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- You are subscribed as : archive@jab.org
Re[2]: MAPI again
Hi Karin, Thanks for your message. I was trying to set The Bat! to work with Corel Wordperfect. In order to do that you have to edit the user profiles through ...Mail. As I can't do this i don't know if it works. However i could edit the settings before I installed the MAPI dll for TB so I must have done something. I have been out and when I came in my mail ticker had stopped moving. I have tried restarting The Bat! and Windows and changing the speed but they are all no speed at all. Can anyone help?
