The "Actions" tab for a filter has a *huge* range of things that ou
can do when the filter is triggered. Most are off-screen - use the
scroll-bar to access them. One of these actions is to run an external
 program. Enjoy!

Wow, didn't see that.. and it actually has the option I need right on
the bottom :-) Thanks.

You could create a filter which doesn't move the message but runs an
external program which clicks the speaker then continues processing
 other filters.

How do I run an external program from a filter ? I haven't found an
option for that..

 No, but TB comes close:

Select the text that you want to reply to and press F4. Only
the selection will be there, as a quote, and the rest of the
 mail won't be included.

Is there a way to do this only with mouse ? Can I make the Reply button
act this way ?

2001-01-14 Thread stojan

Hello TBUDL,

As a new TheBat user (ex-PMMail 2k user) I have a few questions:

  - How do I make the blue bar in the messages list move as I browse
trough the messages ? When I click prev/next message, the messages
get tagged as read, but the bar doesn't move and it's kinda
confusing not to know where in the message list you are.

  - is there a way to set the look of message columns in all folders
per account or even globally, or do I have to do it folder-by-folder
  ?

There is no "message view". Only a folder view. That folder view has
a message list of its own, The blue bar is moving within that list.
This does not affect which message has the focus in the main TB
window. To see the local message list, you can enable it through the
 "View" menu.

I don't really see how.. what option in the View menu would accomplish
that ?

When you double click a message it opens in the folder view

I guess that's what you were looking for.

Yes, this seems to be the solution.. yet, it's not exactly elegant (no
big difference between this and just switching AutoView Messages on
;-) but it will work for now ;-)

Thanks.
