If you go down the all users path, make sure that each user has their own
message base storage path. IIRC, The Bat! will default to a directory under
%APPDATA%, which is individual to each user and will do the right thing.

Got it. Not needed, I wasn't going to do anything in the registry.

TheBat! is installed and running. I had to register it again, which makes
sense, as it is another usere and we have a one-user licence.

Configuring TheBat, I cannot find any more how to get rid of the "quick reply"
atthe bottom of emails in the preview pane. I know it was easu, I just cannot
find it in the settings anywhere.

It will make the installation much more easier, when all users on the same PC
are using the same version of TheBat.

When you enter %APPDATA% into Windows Explorer (with both %), then you are in
the right folder where TheBat stores its configuration and data:
C:\Users\_CurrentLoggedInUser_\AppData\Roaming

In the folder "TheBat" you will see all the files and maildata of the user.

%APPDATA% is a place, where each program can store its own user data.

It does not matter. Admin uses an old version, but I can upgrade that.

Where do you mean, which "all users path"? Something in Windows (this is Win 7
Pro), or in TheBat?

Quick clarification: two different versions of the program, one for each
user or the same version of the program, but two independent installations
(i.e., message bases, settings), one for each users?

If you want same version, but independent installations, install The Bat!
for all users. Both users will use the same version, so if you want
different versions for each, another approach will be needed.

If you go down the all users path, make sure that each user has their own
message base storage path. IIRC, The Bat! will default to a directory under
%APPDATA%, which is individual to each user and will do the right thing.

2xTB! on one computer

2021-04-16 Thread Thomas Fernandez
Hello TBUDL,

I want to install two versions of TB! for two different users on the same
computer. Each user has their own Log-on into Windows 7 Professional.

TB! is already installed for the Amin user. I want to install TB! for User2.

In the beginning, User2 was a standard useer, and Windows wouldn't let me
install the program.

Then I changed User2 to also be Admin. In the installation process, I get two
error messages: 1.) This user is not allowed to delete that probgram (which
program?), 2.) You do not have enough permissions to install a program for all
users.

Q1: I hope the TB! installer is not trying to delete the existing installation
for Admin.
Q2: How can I install TB! only for Usere2, not "for all users"?

Thanks for any help.

Cheers,
Thomas.
