Add address to filter

2007-05-02 Thread Nick Danger
Is there some shortcut way to add the email address of a message
you're reading to the condition section of an existing folder?

TIA

Not exactly. But you can change the condition section of your filter to
see if the address is in an specific AB/Group and add addresses to that
AB/Group.

Hello Thomas,

Is Shft-Crtl-F what you are looking for?

I don't see anyway to use that interface to add the address to the
condition section of an existing filter.

Hello Mau,

But you can change the condition section of your filter to see if
the address is in an specific AB/Group and add addresses to that
 AB/Group.

Yeah, I am using that for some filters already. It is a decent work
around if a bit more clunky to setup. I was just wondering if perhaps
there was a more elegant solution that I just wasn't aware of as
there's lots of little gems hidden in this program that I'm always
amazed to find out.

Thanks for the response though!

I guess that Miguel's suggestion is the best option for you. It means
that you have to restructure your filters so that they check address
book groups instead of series of addresses, but it makes adding
addresses to filter conditions a lot simpler.
It also means that you've got to change the address of contacts (when
that cahanges) only in the address book and not in a number of filters too.

A valid point, but personally I can't think of one address that I have
in more than one filter. Maybe I need to get more creative with my
filters!

You are right, it creates a new filter.
