Auto-wrap

2012-05-07 Thread Jack S. LaRosa
Greetings Batties,

For reasons I'm unable to discern my HTML replies
(and probably other things) don't auto-wrap until
they're beyond the edge of the screen. I'd like to
get each line of a paragraph to wrap somewhere
before the edge of the screen. Where should I look
to set this?

I defer to the vastly superior knowledge on this list.

IIRC something about the spell checker has improved in one of the post
realse version. I am too lazy to search the changelog now, but what
you want just might be possible int he next release. Someone CMIIW.

Auto wrap problem

2004-07-31 Thread WilWilWil
I want to go on line when my text is out of the window editor when composing a
new mail. I know the feature AutoWrap in TB. But it put a line feed code in my
text and if I copy it in winword for example, I had to kill all line feed
characters (chr10 chr13).

The thing I want is a virtual line feed just like in notepad or winword, that go
on the next line when the text will go out of the window, but that doesn't edit
or insert any code of wrap in the text...

Possible to param TB like that ? (in plain text, not HTML)

Thanks

Auto wrap

2003-01-10 Thread Fabio

Hi,

actually I am using keys ALT+J to reformat message text at about 80 chars.

I need this because most users are using outlook (I suppose) and when
I reply mails I see their text on very long lines...

Is there any way to say : TheBat! when I reply a message, please
after you have quoted it, auto wrap original message at about 80 chars
also .

Is it possible ?

Thanks !

You could use %wrapped=%quotes, though that only works for a 1
paragraph message.
For multiple (read most) messages you need something a bit more
advanced, follow this link to the TB regex macro repository:
http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/Library.html#rewrap
Here's explained how you can do what you want.

It's rather easy. You can create quick templates via the menu:
Options - Quick Templates - Add
What the templates themselves are concerned, just copy and paste them
from the website into a quick template:

The first template is:
=[ Begin wq ]=
%COMMENT=%QUOTES%-
%QINCLUDE=wrap2
%COMMENT=
=[ End wq ]=

Copy everything (three linmes) between the two line into a new quick
template. You have to name the quick template, but you don't just pick
a name, you use the one that's given on the website. After all it says
'Begin wq' and 'End wq', so the name of the quick template is 'wq'.
The same applies to the second quick template, called wrap2.
As easy as that.

Now in stead of using the %quotes macro in your normal templates, you
call this recursive set of quick templates, by calling wq. You do that
with the macro %qinclude=wq. Replace the %quotes macro in the default
template with %qinclude=wq and you're done. As easy as that. Good
hunting.

R As mentioned in this post:
R http://www.mail-archive.com/tbudl@thebat.dutaint.com/msg47202.html
R TB freezes and has to be killed and restarted.

You appear to be using the current version or later, so the
templates do work if you have them as written in the library.
Without posting *exactly* what you have (use cut and paste,
don't retype it), we can't help you.

Ok, here goes - direct copy and paste:

Handle: wq
Share with other accounts: Yes

%COMMENT=%QUOTES%-
%QINCLUDE=wrap2
%COMMENT=

Handle: wrap2
Share with other accounts: Yes

%IF:'%-
%SETPATTREGEXP=(?is-m)[^\n]+%-
%REGEXPMATCH=%COMMENT''':'%-
%-
%WRAPPED=_%SETPATTREGEXP=(?is-m)^(.*?)(\n((\w{0,5}(\\s*)+)?\n){1,}(.*)$|\z)%-
%-%-%-%-%-%REGEXPBLINDMATCH=%COMMENT%-
%-%-%-%-%-%SUBPATT=1_
%-
%COMMENT=_%SETPATTREGEXP=(?is-m)^.*?(\n((\w{0,5}(\\s*)+)?\n){1,}(.*)\s*$|\z)%-
%-%-%-%-%-%REGEXPBLINDMATCH=%COMMENT%-
%-%-%-%-%-%SUBPATT=5_
%-
%QINCLUDE=wrap2'

TIA for any assistance with this. I didn't make any changes at
all, just a direct copy from:

Re: Auto wrap reply madness!

2002-09-21 Thread Ravi

This is my first foray into quick templates, so go easy :).

Has anyone successfully used the rewrap template found here?:
http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/Library.html#rewrap

My guess is no - I think it's because a single-quotation mark is
missing in that particular template.

Quoting the third line in wrap2:
%REGEXPMATCH=%COMMENT'':'%-

It seems to me that it should be:
%REGEXPMATCH=%COMMENT''':'%-
  ^
  ^
I'm sure people got a similar template working, as there are
several versions floating around. Thomas F pointed out previously
that the one I had was ever so slightly different from this one.

So, if I am right, could one of the moderators fix that template?

And if I am wrong, somebody please correct me! I imagine this is
highly likely since someone must have just copied and pasted a
working template.

I changed it, and still no go. That prompted me to do a diff
between the QT I was using, and the one on the site. The
differences (several really) helped me to fix the one on the
site.

And now that's what I use. It's a beauty.

Why is it though ... that %WRAPPED=%QUOTES just wraps the first
line in the reply?

Auto-wrap of incoming text revisited

2000-01-09 Thread Martyn Drake

Just to clarify things for my tiny mind - if the auto-wrap option is
ticked within Options - Editor Preferences, all incoming mail should
be wrapped regardless of window size? Does this option have any
connection with the character encoding as well?

I just wished I could get the darn text to wrap so that I don't have
to keep resizing my viewing window when people have their email
clients set to 80 characters :(

Any suggestions to help diagnose this problem is greately apreciated.

Regards,

Martyn
