Changing Font of Viewer
I recently purchased a laptop and have set up The Bat! on it (no problems, by the way). Because the screen resolution is 1400x1050 the size of the text is very small. I found where to change the size in the messages but the size of the account tree and message list are still small. Where can I change the font size in these windows? This is the first answer on it I've had from any list where I posted the query (Windows, Computers, TBUDL etc.), except one from Thomas, who implied it was a problem special to me and advised me to download a program for the visually impaired. :) A There's no way of changing this short of hacking the A registry. However, there are ways out if you have to be within inches of the screen to see what's happening.:) = You could run at a lower screen resolution. About 7 years ago, a 640X480 screen resolution was pretty standard. Nowadays, it's unusual to find a modern monitor running at less than 1024X768 resolution. What resolution are you running at? You could change to a lower resolution and this will make everything seem larger. = You could increase your font size system wide. You can do this by going into your display properties and hitting the 'advanced' button under the 'Settings' tab. If the font size selected is small, choose 'large fonts'. You'll have to reboot for the changes to take effect. If you're already using large fonts, then you can choose the 'custom setting..' option and manually increase the font size to beyond 120%. Normal is 100% while large is 120%. If you wish for me to clarify anything else please say so. Going either route has its advantages. If you change your resolution to a lower one, your screen elements will not appear as sharp and your screen 'real estate' will decrease. However, you do maintain font to window size and window element size ratios. OTOH, if you choose to increase font sizes beyond 100%, this could have a bad effect with some programs that don't compensate for this. As a result, you may see the text on buttons not fully visible since the text is too big or the characters go beyond the provided space. You could try both methods and see which one you prefer. Good luck. -- -=] Allie C Martin [=- {List Moderator} MUA: TB! v1.62 Beta/17 ___ OS: WinXP Pro (SP1) Current version is 1.61 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

It doesn't affect the font size used in configuration dialogs. Make a change of font size using the option you just mentioned and see what it does to the font size in the Display Properties dialog. The font used there seems to be Sans Serif, size 8. -- -=] Allie C Martin [=- {List Moderator} MUA: TB! v1.62 Beta/17 ___ OS: WinXP Pro (SP1) Current version is 1.61 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hello Michael, MR I recently purchased a laptop and have set up The Bat! on it (no MR problems, by the way). Because the screen resolution is 1400x1050 the MR size of the text is very small. Forgive me but why not try 1024x768 or a resolution smaller than 1400x1050? You want your fonts bigger I understand but why not ease your eyes all around if it can help? I also own a notebook and have been dealing with them for a very long time now. 1400x1050 I can see fine on but unfortunately my notebook at the current moment has a resolution of 1024x768 but I have an extra monitor and and virtual desktop application to help expand my desktop. Its my workaround :) - -- Best regards, Victor B.
