I have been using Google desktop plug-in for The Bat for quite some
time:

Although still an Alpha, its is quite stable and I have not had any
problems.

I am happily using Copernic Desktop Version 2.02 and think it's a
great program - however it does nothing for my emails. Having said
that, the search function in TB is pretty good.
