No, the new version will not use glyphs.bmp files. The new UI relies
completely on icons in PNG files (defaults included in the exe file)
with transparency (alpha channel) and with different sizes than the BMP
ones had.
If you want to try, this is what I wrote in TBBeta on may 5:

| Basically they are the default ones and I have changed the folder icons
| to yellowish (with blue for folders with unread and green for Outbox),

| Then, exit TB, unzip to your The Bat! folder and start TB again.

I have just updated the zip file to include the latest changes I made to
the batskin.xml file, like showing the the big 'Parked' icon when there
are draft messages in the Outbox.
Anyway, like it happened with glyphs in the past, I am sure that sooner
or later there will be more alternative sets available.
