You can avoid blank lines with the %- macro and in this case as

bottom of your template, since TB skips trailing blank lines.

Interestingly, what attracted me to TB! right away was what some will
not like and that's MicroEd, the default editor. I was seeking an
editor that would easily format *e-mail* and I say *e-mail* since
when writing email one has special formatting needs.

With further use of the program I quickly discovered templates,
something that any user of email will likely find useful. The Bat!
handles these unlike any other client I've used. So simply and so
effectively.

IOW's, things that were previously tedious will now be easy since you
can quite easily set things up in TB! to be automated, such as using
specific signatures or identities or format when writing to particular
individuals/groups etc.

I welcome you to the list and am sure that in time, you'll discover
that there are things that you never really thought possible that will
be useful to you and easily achieved with TB!.

Happy bat!ing ;)

LG Ok, so you don't need anything.

LG Setting the X-No-Archive to Yes means your posts will only stay on the
LG newsgroup for 14 days. If you don't mind them being mirrored there,
LG then you don't need to put anything as the GMane server is
LG auto-encrypting the addresses for all the TB lists mirrored to it.

wonderful! and deleting those will keep a couple of blank lines out of
my posts!!G

Now this wouldn't be surprising.

From my own personal experience, most of the usergroups that I've
participated in, I found information and links to by checking the
support pages for the software I needed assistance with. I'm quite
sure it's the same for others.

Hello Greg,

Maybe list members are just waiting to see how well Gmane is
working--like a beta version--making sure the address masking
is reliable, etc.

Does the fact individuals reading the list with a news reader
and the inability to post directly to the list reduce the
amount of traffic to the list? IOW if they are using a news
reader which can NOT send mail reduce list volume because it
isn't as convenient to send mail. Kind of like a forced lurker
 mode.

I find it's just as easy to post from a news client (XNews in my
case.)

Ironically if the Gmane has caused the volume on the lists to
drop, then the argument to use a news reader due to volume is
kind of mute. I saw a similar comment on TBOT so thought I'd
ask the question on the TB lists. I'm just thinking out loud.

High volume can ruin a list too. People are more willing to go
off topic if they think their OT post is just another drop in the
ocean.

It is my understanding you can NOT post via NNTP but must post via SMTP.
IOW a reply must be via email and not through the news reader unless the
news reader can send email. I know Agent can send email probably
others as well, but not sure which is why I stated this.

They can post with their news-readers to the Gmane server. The Gmane
server will send the message to the listserver which will send it to
all members of the list via e-mail and a copy back the Gmane.

All of this, *and more* are outlined in the information pages for the
list.
