In contrast, the Yahoo desktop search lets you configure which bits of the computer and which file types you want indexed. Hello Jenny, Personally I think the Google Desktop is rather naff, it doesn't search across more than one hard disk. That is not my experience, maybe you are using an old version. Mine searches, by default, all hard drives in the system. And you can even add (or exclude) drives or folders from other systems in the network. -- Best regards, Miguel A. Hello ETM, I have downloaded and installed it. How does it work with TheBat!? Darn if I can figure it out, see no particular indexing of the mail nor does a search turn up the results I know are there. I think the built-in search capabilities are excellent in TB! but I would sure like to have the option to use the GDT search functions across the PC. Is anyone successfully using the plugin with Google Desktop? I am. After you install the plugin you have to set up its configuration (i.e. which folders to index, etc.) via Options/Preferences/Plugins and then do a first Re-Index Selected and also select Monitor selected folders on exit. In GDT Prefrences, aside of The Bat! E-Mail Client Plug-In under Complements, which should be ticked after installing the plugin, you also need to tick the option for Email under Search Types. My GDT is in Spanish so the English translations I provided may not be exact. -- Best regards, Miguel A.
