Hi Darrin,

It might be better if you Copied and Pasted the original filter in your
mail.
Go to the sorting office and select the filter. Press Ctrl-C and then in a
mail press Ctrl-V. You should see your filter in ASCII.

I had a look at your filter any the only thing I can think of being wrong
is that you do not have a color defined as Blue Color Group with exactly
that name, but I if you selected it form the drop-down menu that should not
be possible.

That leaves only one other options, an other filter is filtering the

The only other filter I can think of is the inbox-known filter. Which
I dont think would be a problem. But I did notice that if I check the
box that reads continue processing with other filters then close it
down and re-open it the box is then unchecked again. Hmmm. :weird:

It must be the Inbox-known filter. I added my email address from
another account to the filter rules. I sent a test email to the
account with the color group filter. It picked it up and applied the
color. I then went and added my email address to the address book and
sent another test email. This time it does not apply the color. I cant
use the continue to process with other rules option because as I
stated it appears to uncheck every time I close the sorting office
down.

I noticed neither one of them work. It appears because they are in my
address book. So the conflict between my Inbox-known and color filter
are the problem. If disable the Inbox-known filter by uncheckecking
my address books in the sorting office, the color filter then does
work.

 https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/bug_view_advanced_page.php?bug_id=0003119

This is not the same problem Chris.

IMAP's support of colour groups is very limited. Colour groups are
native to TB! and there's currently no support for TB! storing colour
group type information on the server, an essential ingredient to
colour group information staying with a message as it's moved from
folder to folder. The IMAP server supports storing standard message
attributes such as read, replied, forwarded, flagged and some colours.
AFAIK, they often offer provision for support of some non-standard
attributes, that colour groups may be able to occupy, but it's not
implemented yet. So this IMAP problem isn't a bug, but a limitation
because of how IMAP works.

IOW's, you filter the message and the colour group is applied but
applied to the local cache for the Inbox. No information concerning
the colour group of the message is sent to the server. The message is
then moved from the Inbox where the colour grouping information is
stored in the local cache to another folder where there is no such
local cache information. The colour group attribute is therefore lost.

Additinally, having TB! carry the colour group locally will be useless
for IMAP, since firing up another TB! installation somewhere else will
lead to the colour groups not being seen since that information is
still not on the server. The essence of IMAP is being able to have all
messages and their attributes stored on a central server.

Strange that it shouldn't work if you have your strings entered

How do you add this third string under the alternatives tab?

Do you use the 'Add Set' button, to make the rule setup look as in the

That's a less straightforward problem than the simple colour group
labelling of incoming messages. I had worked with you on elucidating
your problem with filtering based on colour groups. Darrin wishes to
use a single filter to matched based on a simple sender string and
then apply a colour group. OTOH, your problem that I duplicated, is
that when one tries to filter by matching using the presence of a
particular colour group, the filter actions aren't applied. Below is
an illustration of your problem which is different from Darrin's.

message filter1 (applies colour group) --- message now has colour
group assigned without problems.

Continue processing with other filters enabled so message continues to
be matched with other filters:

Message already colour grouped filter2 (matches based on colour
group move message to folder.

It's this second filter that doesn't work.
