I want to count messages that arrive...

2006-10-16 Thread Admin at AK
I want to count messages that arrive to a particular.

Even if I delete them I want the counter to continue incrementing with each
one that arrives...

Any ideas anyone?

Download the TBLH.ZIP file from here:
http://www.pcwize.com/thebat/tblh.zip

Then click here:
http://www.pcwize.com/thebat/mailing_lists.shtml#Filter%20Two

Scroll up two images and start reading the text where it starts:

Here's an additional note. I was playing around with a way to include
the current number of subscribers in the subscribe receipt. I finally
found a way using VBScript and a couple of well placed INCLUDE
statements. Here's how it works.

This should be pretty easy to adapt to what you want to do. Be careful
unzipping the ZIP file. I'd do it manually rather than automatic
because it's going to unzip into C:\program files\the bat! folder.

Eeekkk! That'd keep me quiet for a week or two!

Thanks for the detailed pointer...

Would you be offended I waited to see if anyone has a less brain-bending way?

Good! grin

Most welcome.

Uhm. Yes. Most definitely! grin jk... It's really not too
complex. Create a filter to count the messages, call the batch file
which in turn calls the vbs which updates the .txt file. To see the
counter either include the .txt file or just open the text file
whenever :-)
