Use the Mail Dispatcher to view all messages on the server.
There, you can decide which messages to download, save, delete,
 or mark as read.

I do this from time to time, for the same reasons you stated.

Thanks Ricardo, this was exactly what I was looking for. Is there
any way to convince The Bat! to perform this way by default?

Yes. Account Properties .. Mail management .. Message dispatcher
 options.

Thanks for the response Marck -- this is exactly what I asked for.
Unfortunately, I should've been more clear. :) What I'm looking for is a
way to coax the Message dispatcher into automatically marking everything as
'Receive' and then proceed to download as usual. After every sync I'd like
my Inbox in The Bat! to appear exactly as it is on the server.

Again, thank you very much for your contribution.

Cael

Keeping messages on the server (and seeing them)?

2003-07-16 Thread y7anect001
Good evening all,

I'm reading mail off an IMAP server from two different computers. Unfortunately,
The Bat! doesn't seem to be picking up messages sitting in the Inbox which have
already been marked read with my other mail client.

How do I tell The Bat! to download the entire contents of the IMAP server,
regardless of the messages status?

thanks,

Cael

doesn't really make sense to maintain a group of invisible messages in
the inbox on the server -- if one doesn't want them sitting in their
inbox, the messages should be moved to a local folder or deleted, no?

Thanks again,

Cael
