I left it for over 3 hours and it still wouldn't let me stop. Might
as well have been endlessly. If I'm working and need to get going
again, 10 minutes would be TOO LOONG.

The PreferencesDisplay Connection Center. Then, Abort task. doesn't
 work either.

Its like it is in a endless loop routine and can't break out. AFAIK I
haven't lost any messages when this happens. I guess daily backups of
Account Properties and Global Options is a must.

Hello Michael,

MT Am I alone in thinking that the origional message below the sig
MT delimiter just looks horrible, and impossible to read? Let alone the
MT problems in replying to a message laid out like that.

Here you go. :)

Seriously, I laid out the template that way because I hadn't realized
that TB! prints everything below the delimiter in a light color that
is harder to read.

I use it for when I want to include the person's text for reference,
or as a courtesy (so they don't have to go digging for what they
said), but don't feel that her text is necessary to get my point.
This way, it is out of the way, she doesn't have to scroll down passed
what she wrote to find my reply (annoying if her text is extended),
and my sig is not simply tacked onto the end (i.e., all of the new
info is at the top, and the older info is at the bottom for reference).

As I said, I didn't realize that it was displayed in a lighter, less
legible text.

Re: the abort button, it works perfectly for me every time, even when
the network connection has been lost. TB!1.62r

And if you don't like that, you can change it - Options, Preferences,

Hi Christopher,

 Hello Antje,

OptionsPreferencesDisplay Connection Center. Then, Abort task.

That simply never works here. Meaning, I can press Abort as long as
I want to, it never aborts on demand. Don't ask me why...

Killing The Bat! without damaging it

2003-08-30 Thread Craig Westerman

Several times, in the last few days, my ISP connection will die.
(cable modem) When I try to shut down The Bat! so I can reboot to
fix connection problem, it won't let me as The Bat! is busy with
fetching mail, but it can't fetch mail as connection is lost. When I
tell it to shut down when operation is done, it never gets done, so
it never shuts down. My only choice is to kill TB! via the Task
Manager. When I do this it messes up TB!. The view split mode is
changed, the toolbars disappear and worst of all, many of my sorting
  filters disappear.

  Is this a common problem?

Is there a way to force TB! to shutdown without loosing filters and
  changing settings?

Does version 2 fix these problems?
