I am using this reply template:

BEGIN

Hello %OFromFName,

On%SETPATTREGEXP=(?m-s)Date\:\s*?((.*?[\d]{4})\s*?([\d]{0,2}\:[\d]{0,2})\s*?(.*))%-
%REGEXPMATCH=%HEADERS GMT (%ODateShort, %OTime +0700 GMT),

--

%Qinclude=tbsig
%Singlere
%TO=%TO=%OFromName on TBUDL [EMAIL PROTECTED]

END

You'll have to fix the first RegEx to fit your time zone (-0500).

The second one eliminates the PGP lines.

There are some more in the library. Follow the link at the footer of
this message and look for the library.

If asking for a customized macro is OK and someone was
kind enough to help me out how would I know if it is
actually safe to run it on my system?

I don't know why it would be safe. ;-)

How does a novice learn to write such templates as was posted here,

For me, the right direction was this list. In the meantime, the
frequently asked-about snips are in the library (follow the link at
the bottom of this list). There is also something in the help file.
Check that out first, look for the complete list of template macros
and for regular expressions.

I don't know much, if anything at all, about Regular Expressions. The
ones contained in my template were all created and donated by kind
people on this list.

My comments about The Bat! a question

2002-12-06 Thread Victor B. Gonzalez
Hello ,

I have tried too many free-ware and shareware apps in
regards to e-mail but The Bat! makes it whoa! again :)

Would asking for a customized macro on this list be a wise
idea? I do not write macros and learning The Bat! can go
from snowball to avalanche at the launch of a help file.

If asking for a customized macro is OK and someone was
kind enough to help me out how would I know if it is
actually safe to run it on my system?

  Thanks

The very idea of this list i to ask such questions and get answers to
them.

Sure. That's what the list is for. :)

Using macros is the same. They go from being simple to very complex.
The simple ones are just that, simple and easy to understand. You'd
be surprised at what you can do for yourself.

However, the more complex ones we're all too willing to help with.

Well, TB! macros since they are designed to extract and manipulate
text within your messages. Furthermore, when you ask for macros,
they're published on the list in the replies to those who make
requests.

I therefore wouldn't worry about it.
