Re: Is my legacy TB! version usable with the upcoming Google security changes please?

Version 10 works, but you have to jump through some hoops with a web browser
when you first add a gmail address to The Bat.
Unless you actually need to send from a gmail address, you can fix retrieval of
mail at www.gmail.com and forwarding everything (and delete from Google servers
afterwards) to an e-mail address on a domain that doesn't break every e-mail
client on the planet.

The threshold question remains, what is the latest version of The Bat that will
support the new security changes annouced by Google and which become effective
in just two weeks?

The 50% discount is nice but does me no good, since I have version 9.5.1, but
purchased it BEFORE the date for which one may receive a free upgrade to The
Bat. So, the question remains, what is the oldest version of The Bat that will
support the new protocol, and will even the newest version support it?

Google will require OAUTH 2.0 from 30 May on. From which version on does TB!
support this?

IIRC, first version The Bat! with Google OAUTH support was 7.x, so your version
is too old and you will have to upgrade.

With v10 released yesterday, Ritlabs is offering 50% discount from the full
price for upgrade from versions prior to 9.0, the upgrade process must be
painless as the only thing is needed is just installation of the new version
(it is always recommended to have a backup, of course).
