I have an USA windows 98 SE installed over a German Windows 98 FE.
It's not really a problem, besides Windows always being a problem. Of
course it's generally not a good idea to install one windows over the
other, but... it will work for an intermediate solution.

I just imagined what a mess is your registry now!:-) Besides,
it's just plain interesting how is it working now: do you _really_
have both "My documents" folder and the "The same name,
translated to German" one???

R no, it will not. but if you want a clean Thai install, you better start on a
R clean disk.
R or if you have enough disk space, install the Thai version on a different
R partition ...

How do I do that? FDISK will format the hard disk first, or not? But I
do have a partition called drive D: - it's partitioned off the hard
disk as way of a backup (I suppose). I would like to make this
bootable with the Thai-Win. That should be no problem, right?

Please tell me how I do that (off-list, if necessary).

No problem whatsoever. Get Partition Magic from
www.powerquest.com, install it, and you're done. That's instead
of Fdisk. Then, instead of the dual boot, there's a nice tool
called "Boot manager". It used to be a part of PQmagic ver.3.

Well, I don't know what version they are offering right now. I
still prefer PQMagic3 (like it better:-)). Once I've tried v.4, but
didn't like it. Besides, this version doesn't include boot manager
due to some reason AFAIK:-(

As for the problems that you might encounter, once upon a
time my friend used ver.4 against Linux/Windows dual boot
system. PQM offered him to create an undo disk, to which he
answered "The brakes were invented by a coward!" and
proceeded without it. Well, in a few minutes it was found out
that PQM has disabled lilo boot, and the next couple of hours
were spent in fixing all that stuff. Therefore, *always* create
undo!
