Re: The Bat! versus others

2004-01-16 Thread Peter Olsen
Hello there.

I agree fully with S J Love about the look of
The Bat! I have used the bat for many years now
and I am very satisfied, but I also think TB is
very dull and boring to look at. Of course the
contents of the program is the most important, but
now that we have some very fine contents then I
would very much like if TB! would be beffed up
with some nice colours and a more artistic
interface. of course tookable as there are
users who would certainly just like the plain old
look.

Peter

SJL There are a lot of nice things about
SJL PM...and I am thinking the
SJL 'perfect' email for me would be TB,
SJL with the appearance,
SJL 'skinnability', and some of the nice
SJL little touches of PM. YesI
SJL know that personal preferences (re
SJL features and appearance) have a big
SJL impact on one's choice of mailer.

SJL Despite some of the current bugs (eg in
SJL HTML): I see TB as being
SJL fairly boring and dull in appearance,
SJL but fast, reliable, fairly easy
SJL to use, and perhaps unsurpassed for
SJL power and flexibility. If there
SJL was an easy way to improve the
SJL appearance of TB... eg change the grey
SJL backdrop for something else...even a
SJL nice buff colour (as in some of
SJL the screenshots of TB I have seen)
SJL then it would make all the
SJL difference. Well, a big improvement at least.

Outlook would have to be ... big, fat, slow, troublesome and
 MASSIVELY popular.
My copy of Outlook (and Office 2003) was so broken that I spent 2
hours and 45 minutes on the phone with Microsoft technical support
deleting files, folders, registry keys, running system restore,
re-installing Office... At least, using my free night and weekend
cell phone minutes, I wasn't charged any long distance. Who need 3650
night and weekend minutes a month?

All that work just to get my PocketPC to synchronize.

One good thing came out of the whole process:
I can install Office 2003 in under 10 minutes!

Quoting when replying to this message is good for your karma.

Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.
