Just for the record, I am using TB! 7.1.18 on Windows 10 with Avast
Free Antivirus 11.1.2253, with TB!'s Internal Implementation selected
for S/MIME and TLS certificates. My Trusted Root CA address book
contains three certificates for Avast and my intermediate CA AB
contains one.

Thanks; Anton already mentioned this. I will try in the office and

I'm using NOD32 for ages (it was suggested on the german list some years ago)
and had no problems at all with certificates when switching to W10.

Thanks, that was it!

I had already download that TB! version again and reinstalled, hoping
that the certificates will show up in the ABD, but they didn't.
Checking here on my home PC, I don't see any certs in the RootCa
addressbook either...

I disabled avast! in the office, and could use the computer without
problems. Windows 10 automtically enables Windows Defender when no
other antivirus is enabled, so I was reasonably safe (I hope).

I only wonder why there was no MITM problem with avast! under Windows
8, and it suddenly appeared after the Windows upgrade.

How would I do that? - I do like avast!, and I don't know whether
Windows Defender is as good.

I see... Thanks, I'll try tomorrow in the office.

Note: I had sent my original request by Gmane, as this email account
is not set up on my office computer. I could create a new topic and
read replies, but could not any reply with Gmane - but that is sure
off-topic here.

you can also try to enable option (Options/S/MIME and TLS...), which is shown
in screenshot.

it once helped to resolve my certificate problems.

Your antivirus is doing a MITM attack on the connection, which is why
it's failing. It might work if you switch TB to use the Windows
certificate store, but such MITM actually leaves you more vulnerable.
