That would 0.5.11. It is what I continue to return to when I have
problems with a new version of the 0.6 tree. Last time I looked, it
was still available.

Hi Marck,

Well, I have had consistent crashes using BayesIt and still get a
Exception trap in training_the_base error on occasion. Which ends up
with BayesIt no longer operational and TB hanging on exit. These
crashes are far less frequent with the 0.6.8 release, for sure and
previous releases were so error prone that I found them completely
 unusable.

I spoke too soon:

Unknown general exception in 'trainthread' thread.
Line(important!)=0003

As such, I switched to Achim Winklers BayesFilter. That worked well
*except* ... it has an auto-whitelist function. Which insisted on
white-listing my own email address. Since much of the spam comes /to/
that address ... well, you can guess the outcome. All spam instantly
 whitelisted :-(.

Tried it and switched back to v0.6.0

I find that BayesIt is not trapping any spam at all on my second main
email account. Okay, well not much. I guess this may be a matter of
further training, but I do get many spam duplicates between the two
accounts. A message spotted as spam on my primary is not spotted on
 the secondary.

I mainly get spam on one account, so I can't comment. What I *do* know
is I have been able to run this new version of BayesIt without
crashes, lock-up on exit, or high CPU usage.

 It's all rather confusing.

Don't you know it! I'm sure we will all get there eventually if the
existing features are cleaned up - as is happily being done - without
introducing too many more problems. BayesIt and AVG have really kept
me out of trouble for quite a while and for that I am grateful;)

Can you tell me a little more about the auto-whitelist? I've installed
Bayes Filter with no problems and it seems to be working well. So far
the only addresses in the whitelist file are those I added manually.

MDP Which insisted on white-listing my own email address. Since much

And there is no way you the whitelist can be controlled?

MDP So I have switched back to BayesIt, seeing the positive feedback on

I've heard of nothing but problems with BayseIt, much as I would like
it to work.

You said it. :-)

Hi Steve

I'm, using 06.6, which I thought was the latest version. BayesIt hasn't
worked well for me since the version that came with The Bat 2.12; I don't
 remember its version number.

It's had a rough go of it for sure. Too many changes in TB and BayesIt
have made a mess of things, at least for a bit.

Do you have the URL for 0.6.8? The web site for BayesIt
http://klirik.narod.ru/usefuls/bayesiteng.htm lists 0.4 as the latest version.
I've been getting the URLs for the later versions from this forum.

The narod page is outdated; use 0.4g with TB v2.X - it works. For my
money, I'll stick with the latest v3 and forget v2. Really loved
v1.62r sob.

If you subscribe to TBBETA you will keep up on all of these. I see
you have moved to Achim's filter. Good luck. I came back to Alexy's
g.
