WB Hello Allie, This is a reply to your message dated

AM addresses from it.

WB Good idea Allie, I just removed mine from my sig.

This will only keep amateurs from grabbing your E-mail addresses.
By simply subscribing to the list, archiving the mail and extracting
the addresses, one can harvest everyone's E-mail address with little
effort. (1)

Nevertheless, every little bit helps to beat spammers...

(1): To prove my point I will now add the list of E-mail addresses of the
TBUDL-list. However, to make things less obvious for spammers I
will write them in white letters on a white background (2)
(2): You can try to find them beneath the signature, but you might as
well not loose your time... :-)

Well, seriously folks, it IS really easy...

MDP Actually, I disagree - completely. It is only amateurs who do what
MDP you suggest - it is too labour intensive for the professionals.

About 10 seconds to extract all E-mail addresses from this list,
that's what it took. Perhaps we have a different view on labour
intesiveness :-)

Damned, who stole my n? :-)

MDP If it is your intent to do so, I would be very surprised.

No reason to be surprised... I do not intend to use it for spamming.
I do not use it at all. I do not send spam, period.
I was merely testing a feature of some software I use.

Furthermore, even though address harvesters may be professionals,
those who actually use these addresses are not being professional.

I do think advertising through E-mail is legitimate, but only if it is
being sent to people who have expressed an explicit whish to receive
such a message (no partner stuff etc.) f.i. people who subscribe to
a newsletter.

Sending advertisements to people who did not request it is simply
unprofessional.
