 Unfortunately this doesn't cure the problem because I still have to be
 closing the window manually once it pops up automatically.

Mine is the same way, but i'm *very* sure that it did go away prior to
version 1.45.

That doesn't cure the problem.  On my end there are not one but two
(2) dial-up monitors (one real and one fake) created by The Bat when I
dial in.  The first shows up and makes the connection (and I like to
watch it do so hehehe).  The second one shows up in the bar at the
bottom of the screen -after- the connection is made!!!  I click on it,
then hit close and all is well since I am already connected... I just
want to know how to get rid of this second, fake dial-up box...
