Re[2]: thread sorting

kg Do you mean you are *sorting* by Subject AND threading by subject? (I
kg assume yes, as this would make the most sense). The only time I use a
kg sort by subject is for reference folders where new messages are rarely
kg added.

Sorry, I definitely wasn't being very clear :(

I have set View Threads by Subject and Sort by Received Time so
anything new would bring its corresponding thread to the top of the
list. But now I understand (thanks to your explanation of the
Reference thingy) why some threads are broken. All in all, though,
it seems to work okay for me to keep these settings by default.

I haven't started using color groups yet (I am pretty new to the bat)
but it should be a useful feature I think.

Many thanks for the explanations :)

kg Nope, I don't think so. At least not for me - not if you are viewing
kg threads by reference. For this list (TBUDL), two recent threads are:

kg PC Mag Review Of The Bat!

kg and

kg Export of messages and address books

kg The most recent post to the PC Mag thread has a created and received
kg timestamp 6-7 minutes *after* the most recent post in the Export thread.
kg This would lead one to believe that the PC Mag thread is more recent
kg (updated most recently).

Yes I see what you mean now. I have my threads sorted by Subject so
my suggestion works that way, but when I sort by Reference (What is
reference anyways?) I can see that it does not work then. Maybe this
is a bug?
