This is common with HTML messages from multiple sources. For example,
I received a "home-made" ecard where the sender altered the
background, fonts etc. and inserted a family photo-- which did not
open when I clicked on the browser to view. This morning I received an
HTML message from my ISP, with the same result. I do receive the
images; they just does not load and can be seen only by clicking the
icon. As far as I remember, this has always been the case though did
not bother me much since I don't tend to view in HTML anyway.

I am using IE 6.0.
