Re address of my points regarding improvements for the Bat
Hello tbudl, I doubt anyone will complaint if the bat introduced the following improvements: Web page viewing Option Web Page Editing option NNTP USENET News Reader Option Component wise configuration backup and restore including Folder sorting filters auto responders etc.. Everything configurable and any additions to that configuration. Like what they have now only including filters and any configurable component with a replace or append option allowing just new filters to be added for example or replace what is there with what is being restored. As long as these are kept modular and part of a custom install everybody is happy. Those who only want plain text can have only plain text and need not check off the HTML support or varry the degree to old style of new style As components they only load if desired. At least The Bat author will have more popularity for his product. Seems to me he should be thinking about that a lot! -- Best regards, Robert mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Current version is 1.62 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hi Batpersons, On or about, Saturday, January 18, 2003, 7:15:00 PM, we have reason to believe that Robert Silver wrote: RS I doubt anyone will complaint if the bat introduced the following RS improvements: RS Web page viewing Option RS Web Page Editing option RS NNTP USENET News Reader Option People have already complained, so I imagine it's safe to assume they will carry on complaining. If the developers do all this, they'll just be moving closer to Outlook Express. Since OE is free and the Bat isn't, I'd say that was a worse position to be in. Then there's the fact that enhanced HTML functionality will open The Bat to many of the same security weakness as OE, and you have a debatable strategy IMO -- Best regards, Nick [EMAIL PROTECTED] Using The Bat! 1.60c on Windows XP Build 2600 Current version is 1.62 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hello Robert, Saturday, January 18, 2003, 7:15:00 PM, you wrote: RS I doubt anyone will complaint if the bat introduced the following RS improvements: RS Web page viewing Option RS Web Page Editing option RS NNTP USENET News Reader Option I would. I already have a newsreader I'm quite happy with, and if I want to view web pages I use a web browser. If I want to edit a web page I use Dreamweaver. I've just changed in the last three months from bloatware to TB when I found out what it could do and, more importantly what it *wouldn't* do. I'd rather not have to change again. -- Best regards, Mike Current version is 1.62 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
